Random lnsanity / News: RIA win Cybernations
« on: June 16, 2015, 05:47:59 pm »
01/04/2027 - Reuters/Associated Press - At first, this reporter thought that the "RIA" story was for an IRA cover group. Luckily, this reporter was corrected by local expert, who happened o be sitting at the next barstool. The barstool expert revealed a world of intrigue and apathy that could bore drying wallpaper. So there and then in sight of the decrepit remains of the last known server to have ever run the game, the reporter listened. He could almost hear the bustle of the city, and felt like he was there on the only memorable day in the simulation's long history. The headlinemstory read:

In a surprising turn if events, the "Random Insanity Alliance" team wims the long running online nation building simulation game, Cyber nations. It was most surprising because, of all alliances in the Cybernation universe, the RIA seemed to have the most corpses posing as players.

When the last player logged in he was identified as the winner of the Cybernations, and promptly shot in accordance with Masonic tradition. No one attended the elaborately staged event.

Maybe you're just too much woman for him.

Meanwhile in space...

"Yeah, so the last celestial body I was on couldn't handle 'Apollo' for very long. I had to cut engine power and eject before making it back to base."

"Are you sure you keyed in the full startup procedure? That console has a lot of buttons, and the technical writers could never understand the engineer."

"There's a startup procedure? I thought they were fully automatic."

"Well, looks like you'll be flying manually for your next mission."

I thought we denied your app, Buck? You're no member of this here alliance.

You looking to start an RIA-RIA civil war?

1 torrid summer of threesomes with my girlfriend and her nymphomaniac friend. The best way to cash in on 4.5 years of faithfulness at the tail end of a moribund relationship.

It's always a good idea to spend some time alone after a break up to mend you heart and mind. You know, porn.

That's really not that hard to imagine.

I am actually the last surviving Tyrannosaurus Rex, writing to you from 64.99 million years ago (from your perspective). I am sexually attracted to a species that doesn't exist yet in my time, and have labored for years after the sky rock killed off my species and anything remotely similar to it to create a time portal. Unfortunately, I can only send text through it, and I had to also learn how to write a language that doesn't exist yet in my time. I am terribly lonely, and the closest I get to being turned on is to cave drawings by my own hand (no pun) of this magnificently sexy species that does not exist yet. It is like you getting turned on by drawings of aliens which you have not met yet (but that, ironically, I have).

That said, perhaps my burden is somewhat lighter, since all I want to do is ejaculate on its ovum (assuming that it produces eggs), and saunter off into the burning jungle for a nap. Maybe I could use this portal as a sort of temporal glory hole and one of you humans could just 'present'. That would really make my day.

Like Star Trek, Firefly, and The Big Lebowski before it, RIA became a cult classic after it ended. For many years after its cancellation, the 7 year series spawned regular conventions and cast reunions on every continent. Rumours that the original cast did not get along with each other were rampant, but suppressed by the commercial interests of the producer, Ogaden, and his fanatically aggressive and gay merchandizer, Hyperonic. Cartoon spinoffs were inevitable, but fortunately short-lived.

In the years that followed the disappearance of one of the most beloved characters, Arsenal, the popularity of the series swelled. The RIA found resonance with a new generation of fans, who found the series' major themes, such as spam, sexy dinosaurs, and robot overlords comforting in troubling times. The true and patient business mastermind behind the RIA, cctmsp13 successfully approached JJ Abrams to produce a high quality re-imagined trilogy, which was confusingly named 'Star Wars'. Many fans decried this move as a sell-out of the original spirit of the RIA, and established the RIA to preserve and honour the original intent. These RIAers sometimes referred to themselves as 'orthodox', but cctmsp13 just called them 'poor'.

Jake from State Farm has tried to bring the two RIAs together, and is always eager to help.

this show has gone on long enough anyway

Yeah. It started to feel like the Beachcombers (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066630/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1) toward the end.

Is RIA an animal, vegetable, or mineral?

Yes. Love the DK BTW. Halloween.
