No, I'm pretty sure accepting the use of a slur normalizes the use of the slur correctly used by bigots

I think sometimes they're making fun of political correctness too, though.

It's hard to take people's sensitivity about slurs seriously when they use the same slurs.

having exceptions for who can use slurs is IMO a sign that people don't think of themselves as equal or part of the majority. they're excluding themselves before anyone else can, kind of a pre-emptive self rejection thing. but the result is that it keeps them divided and they don't face the way their self-perceptions cause them to see society. If you are given equal opportunities but you believe you are unequal you will continue to act like an outsider on some level, continuing to perceive the majority as the enemy.
