Title: WMP doesn't work too good.
Post by: wethepeople on April 29, 2007, 10:55:02 pm
@_@ I play the DVD and it looks fine, but the audio is very choppy, and skips. And occasionnaly the video skips for half a second. I have a x1600 pro, AVIO, and all that stuff installed. Drivers are up to date, but I also have never used WMP before. Are there any updates or something, or any ways to stop the audio from skipping?

Edit: Scratch that, the video is now skipping every couple seconds. Its almost un watchable. Its in HD, which is a plus, but it skips like crazy.

Edit 2: Unrelated, but whenever I try to download anything from Microsoft.com, it says "Page cannot be opened" or your usual error. I can't update anything from them, or get any patches or anything. I have WMP10, and didn't know there was an 11. I tried to download, and that happened.

Try using Media Player Classic (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=82303&package_id=84358) and seeing if you get different results.

That sounds more like it's a problem with your computer than WMP.

You shouldn't have a problem with it playing a video if your computer has a good enough video and sound cards with enough memory available for WMP to use.

Full specs:

Windows XP SP2
1024MB DDR2 PC-4300 RAM
Pentium D 820 2.80GHz
ATi x1600 pro 512MB DDR2 905MHz
200GB HDD

I can handle most games, but can't watch a movie? Something wrong there.
