So while I was bored tonight (I should be studying) I was browsing through my old travel photos and thought about posting some of them here.
I'll try post a new one every day.
First up.

A skink (I think) trying to camouflage itself on a rusty tin can on the island of Rarotonga, the main island of the Cook Islands.
-
Not bad, looks like a good camera.
-
Interesting, I look forward to you other photos ;)

Not bad, looks like a good camera.
Nikon D50, a lower end SLR camera. Got a 18-55mm and 75-300mm lens for it.
-
Good enough for entry level professional photography or hobby photography...
-
I look forward to finally seeing your photos :P
-
Very nice.

A sea eagle swooping down with to catch it's 'prey' and a brahminy kite lurking in the background.
I was on a yachting trip in the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland Australia and one of they guys working on the yacht threw a strip of chicken into the water to get the birds to swoop down.

I look forward to finally seeing your photos :P
Pfft, you will have already seen most of the ones I end up posting here :P
-
The second picture looks no where *near* as good as the first one. Not knocking your photography skills, you took the shot well, but what the hell happened to the camea? Did you switch it out for a kodak moment disposable one?
-
Amazing first shot. Meh second shot. I have some pictures from hiking and skiing that are pretty sick. Maybe I'll post a couple for shits and giggles.
-
Try taking a photo of something moving that fast while the sun is setting :P
Slow shutter speed would have given it better depth and colour, but the two birds would have been blurs.
It was also a guessing came on where I had to focus. The birds moved to quickly for auto focus to work, or make any changes in manual focus. It isn't the best quality shot, but the action it captures is awesome imo.
-
See, I prefer the second shot, not because of its photographic quality, but of the photo itself. You don't often get to see a bird of prey poised like that.
The reason the picture looks worse is because it is a moving action shot which are a lot more difficult to take and reduces the quality of the photo; unless your camera is awesome..
-
Im with Arsenal. The quality would be nice, but just getting a shot like that is amazing.
-
TS 1st of all, these pictures look awesome. I'm sure being there in person is 100x more awesome. I thought they turned out great. I'm jealous of the places you've been, can't wait to see them for myself.
Also people fussing his photo skills and equipment, who gives a rats ass, that's not the point of this thread. TS wants to show off his sweet vaca photos. This is the time you're supposed to ooh and ash, not turn it into a photography debate.
PS RIA, love the new:
