I just wish these things didn't have ideological subtext. The female protagonist being victimized by an evil man who sees them as objects for his use. they should just call the villain dr patriarchy.

maybe in this one, the character and the writing will be sincere, but I have seen some terribly shallow characters when ideologies get in the mix.
