So what the fuck is with all this Kony stuff all of a sudden? Why is everyone so obsessed about it now? I mean, he's been doing it for nearly 30 years.

First everyone bitched we were in Iraq, and we are now leaving, so what does everyone want? to invade another country and take out another evil man. Tell me, in 10 years is everyone going to be bitching about this?

I mean, what action do people really think we could take against this. I'm gonna go ahead and say at least 90% of people on facebook (probably more), will blindly support this cause, without even understanding what would have to happen if our military committed to an action. People will see this and think "OMG HE USES CHILD SOLDIERS, THAT SO EVIL, WE SHOULD STOP HIM", but many of those people would not be willing to go and fight, they might say they are, but what will they say after they are fighting to fight and kill children fighting for him?

This wouldn't be us fighting against a warlord, this would be us fighting against a brainwashed cult. We won't be fighting insurgents like in Iraq, we would be fighting children brainwashed since birth that Kony is the equivalent of god on earth, and that they must fight in his name or forever be damned. His force numbers in a few thousand, but most are children, and they put those children on the front lines to take most of the causalities, mainly for the impact it has on enemy soldiers, and how replicable they are.

Tell me, how many people do you know in the military that would fire into a squad of children without a second though? Or, how many people in the military are going to hold themselves together after they just had to fight and kill squads of dozens of children attacking them? Killing grown soldiers or insurgents in one thing, but your not going to find many people in our military willing to fight against children.

So I ask again, what do you want out government to do about this? We send troops, the media turns shows the footage of our troops fighting against his child soldiers and the world sees us as monsters. We don't, and people talk about how we are insensitive our government is to their situation.

So tell me, what do we do?

FIX THE MINECRAFT SERVER PLS.

Working on a special effects reel, and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions.  Mainly, any special effects you've seen in movies that were interesting.

Right now, I've got the following:
1. a number of special effects for eyes (Silver, the x-files black oil, cat eyes, color changes)
2. Gunshot with person hit (and bloodcloud)
3. light-sabre
4. 2 swords hit and create a spark
5. 2 people shoot lighting at each other
6. Motion-tracking particle wand
7. Old timey-video filter

I made all the effects myself with various programs, and I'm assembling them, but I need to know (mainly, cause this will help me make a better reel):  If you were looking for someone to hire to do visual effects, what would you look for in their reel?

Gotta get a song soon to make her a video for a project.  I'm not 100% creative, but if I can get a song, I think I can pull something together.

So, suggestions?  Right now, Looking at:

So far it's tuesday, and I've gotten roughly 8 hours of sleep this week.

Was up till 5am last night putting the final touches on the video at the bottom.  All the transitions are done with keyframes by hand.  Also, all the photos are of me, and about 80% of them had faded and needed some restoration which took most of sunday (to scan and restore).  Following that, I had a script due monday (gonna post it in the writing section after this), and then Tuesday 2 midterms, one of which I'm sure I bombed part of because it felt like reading russian.  Finally, It's 6pm, and I'm in my last class of the day, which lets out at 9pm.  A good chunk of the class has never used macs, so we went from intro to editing, to intro to macs.

tl;dr  FUCK MY LIFE THIS WEEK

Oh yea, Wednesday, I have to have a "Seduction" scene done (actually, I'm going to make it comedy and slightly RIA related), and thursday I need to turn in a 2-4 page paper on the Batmans ethics within Arkham Asylum and my opinion on the game taking away the ability to choose if batman kills the joker (or even baddies).
