Title: If the country you live in declared a military draft what would you do?

Navy, I have always likes combat a sea. Plus if assigned to a frigate or destroyer there is far less chance of seeing combat.

You forgot the "Read through every legal document of the nation and find a loophole out of it" choice.

Be rightfully pissed. Though, they haven't declare a draft since the Korean war, IIRC.

Or was it the Vietnam War?

Can't remember

I said Air Force. But really the odds of Canada going to war where they need to draft are very low.

If the US ever had a draft, I wouldn't be worried, because no one in my family would have to go. I'd be in college or still in high school, my dad is too old, my brother wouldn't go either, and only my brother-in-law would be in danger.

im a british citizen, so i'd just go there if the US had a draft. and if britain had a draft, i'd stay here. if they both had a draft at the same time, then i guess i'd be screwed. probably go to the RAF (british air force) if i had to choose.

but right now i'm a college student - typing this on my first day...  so i think im somewhat safe

Providing that I can't get out on some sort of loophole (and I can), I'd join the air force. With my eyesight not being as good as it could be (and they require 20/20 to fly planes which I'm assuming is their only form of combat), I'd most likely  be staying in the US either doing mechanical work or some sort of intelligence work of some sort. So, if I want to avoid combat (which I do), the air force would be my choice, providing I had to go anywhere.

I have flat feet, which used to get you out of it, but I don't think it does anymore.

Hmm.. well, since I can't vote, I'll give a text answer. Any one of those=Dead man, tool, etc. I'd rather be the tool though, so Special forces. Blowing up places, going covert, etc. Nastiest work, and you pretty much are assigned to do a lie. Still though it'd be cool to be in a Spec ops team. But lets be realistic, life isn't Battlefield 2. =P You /are/ going to hate your job, and you are going to be betrayed literally or behind your back (Be it discharged, or told to do something good but its really bad.).
