I just watched the documentary the other night and I must say it was really well done.  I even got a little weepy at some parts, but if those ASPCA commercials were any longer than they are, I'd be bawling during those, too.
Now, I've always been a little pro-zoo, and since I've never been to Seaworld, I assumed it was something like a zoo/aquarium.  If even half of the stuff in the documentary is being represented fairly, someone should burn that shit circus to the ground.

It did get me think about my stance on zoos, too.  With the internet and high definition television, etc -- do we really need these things?

Do we NEED those things? Not really.

Can they exist and be handled in an ethical way? Maybe. At the very least If we're going to have incredibly smart marine animals like orcas in a goddamn pool or something it better be big enough for them to live relatively normally.

You want depressing?  Go to a European zoo.  You would be surprised to see how many giraffes they can stuff into a cage, as long as it is shaped just right.  They herd them into pens like Jews at Auschwitz. 

I think zoos are the only chance many animals have of surviving extinction.  We just need to make them better. 

And what the hell is wrong with training Orcas to do shit for food?  Society invested almost 20 years in teaching me to be a productive member of society, and I will be damned if those arrogant Odontoceti are let off the hook.

1. The churros at Sea World are really, really tasty.
2. Dolphins are complete assholes.

Bleak, you are obviously biased for Sea World.  Churros are almost always amazing, especially when served with 'chocolate'.  I am hoping the italics and quotation marks properly convey the difference in pronunciation with normal chocolate. 

As for the dolphins, I agree.  You just can't trust a creature that is born with a perma-smile.  Only the Joker comes to mind.
