Excluding nudists/nude beaches and such.
See, this comes up because I live right by a day-care, and on my way home today, a woman was yelling at the day-care lady because one of the kids had stripped during the 4-6 seconds that the day-care lady was handing off a kid to it's parent, and this lady had come in at the exact wrong time and started bitching about how her 6 year girl old would be mentally scarred forever because she saw a 5 year olds "winky".
Now, a few years back while I was in the army, something similar happened. We were at a beach and sitting in the car waiting for my friends wife to change joking about how being a woman made her take so much more time to change, when we sat in the car waiting, we were facing the beach. Now, you know how they have those strange showers sometimes, which are just like, a pipe that dumps water over you so you can wash sand off? Well, some lady pushed both her sons under it, stripped them, and had them wash all the salt-water off, then she gave them a towel and ran them to her car. Now, they were like 9/10/11 or 4/15, and some crazy lady started yelling at the lady with the kids about it once they were at their car
So, heres my question:
Exactly what age is it inappropriate for a child to run around naked if they decide to do so?
I'm starting the poll at 5 because I think before age 5, they really can't make a decision like that, and ending it at 16 because if they are old enough to drive, they are old enough that they probably do other things that don't involve cloths anyway.
What is your opinion?

Before the age of 5 they should no people don't need to see them naked. Especially considering you should be in school at the age of four.

Depends on the context I think. If a 5 year old were running around naked at home I don't think it's a big deal, but it's inappropriate behaviour for school. As for the shower, I don't see the problem with that, but the parent shouldn't force them to take their clothes off if they don't want to.

Very true. I think that it is fine for a five year old to run around naked on the beach too.
That said, at 10 years old, public nudity isn't socially acceptable...

I was only use those 2 situations as my own experiences.
And, lets assume that the kid has some sense, and wouldn't say, strip down in a school, or at a grocery store.
Lets say, that it would be a situation or time where the kid is "at play". Like, on a beach, in a park, ETC.
I've posted this on another site or 2, and I'm debating using this as a basis for an essay. We have an argumentative essay coming up, where 2 people each get a topic and take opposing sides. I'll probably try and take the side that has the least support and change opinions because thats how I roll. Always need a challenge!

Uh, topless Tuesday with anyone under eighteen would fall under child pornography technically. <_<
I do not think children should be running around naked but by five/six, they should be watched enough that it isn't an issue.

No one should be running around naked in public at any age.

People worry too much about nudity and sexuality to the point of fucking with their own kids' heads.
For example, suppose a 5 year old girl seeing 5 year old babydick really does scar her. I propose it's even more scaring when her mom flips shit in front of her and turning penises everywhere in her eyes an evil ugly thing that messes with her later in life when she develops sexually.
The lady needs to not react at all to the babydick. If her little girl asks what the fuck was that babydick, mom explains that "boys have penises and girls have vaginas". Doesn't even need to turn to sex.
Jesus Christ, I need to be a parent of parents and tell them to shut the fuck up. We have nature to tell us what to be afraid of, not social stigmas that really aren't scary.
I'd rather my kids be naked in public than be scarred for the rest of their life because I scolded them into being ashamed of their nude body.
If someone were to say something to me about this, I would be apologetic and blame it on the kid if they aren't in hearing distance. But, if they said it to me within hearing distance of my child, or directly to my child, I would be such an obtuse asshole back to them.
But if I have to pick, I'd say 10.

You start school before 5. And for all the work parents go to keep clothing on a child, you should learn you need it. Particularly if you live somewhere with a real winter.

our country is paranoid about child-related crimes. therefore everyone is terrified of naked children. not sure why al qaeda hasn't caught on to this yet.

But I think that it depends on the sex of the kid.
My daughter knows better than to strip, and she is only 4. She never went outside naked. Ever.
As for boys, well, it depends. No nudity at school or prayer venues. But I have seen nude 12 to 15 year olds in public beaches, in a Muslim country of all places.
