Random lnsanity / Kaskus, the very definition of professionalism.
« on: November 06, 2013, 02:57:16 am »
My favorite part about them, is how they are so professional they keep any squabbles to their own forums and methods of communication, and NEVER bring any dirty laundry or complaints to other alliance forums.

Complete professionalism.

It's really something I think we should strive to follow.

Random lnsanity / Atonic's Random facts!
« on: October 29, 2013, 02:02:34 am »
So, I've decided to "slowly" impart some of my random knowledge onto all of you in the RIA.  If your not a member of the RIA, please disreguard this topic. Also, I will OCCASIONALLY update this when I remember something from the VAST RESERVOIR that is MY MIND.

So, lets start with 2 "interesting" facts:

1.  Did you know, Bananas are radioactive?  A Banana Equivalent Dose, is a nonstandard measurement of radiation.  Specifically, the amount of radiation that someone receives in the process of eating 1 banana.  The reason for this radioactivity, is the Potassium in the Banana, which is a naturally (slightly) radioactive element.

The amount of radiation is so low, that you are much more likely to die of Potassium Poisoning, than suffer any effects of radiation sickness from eating bananas.  However, Bananas trucks fairly regularly set off Radiation Detectors at border checkpoints.

2.  One of the main reasons the revolution was successful, was tactics taught to the Colonial military by a Gay Prussian Military man, posing as a Baron to borrow money from the french (after fleeing from Germany because they wanted to prosecute him), who then pawned him off on Benjamin Franklin (instead of loaning him money), claiming he was a Prussian General.

His name, was Baron von Steuben, A.K.A. NOT BARON Friedrich Wilhelm August Heinrich Ferdinand von Steuben.  His father fabricated the Baron title and claim.  He's credited with pretty much single handedly training the revolutionary armies to "Not die" and fight the british.  This was after Washington ran off with 12,000 men in a not-so-glorious retreat from the British who were spanking the rest of revolutionaries.

After the winter, when most of them either died from freezing, disease, starvation, or general buffoonery, Von Steuben arrived, and turned the remaining 4,000 into super revolutionary badasses by teaching them how to fight and do something other than "Fire one shot and run".  His biggest contribution?  The Bayonet.  Prior to his instruction, the primary use of the Bayonet was a cooking Skewer.  After his instruction, the Americans promptly attacked WITH UNLOADED WEAPONS and won a decisive battle (losing only 15 Americans, killing 20 British, and taking over 700 prisoners due to their sheer badassness).

Seriously, been playing this a couple weeks, and possibly one of the best fucking simulators I've EVER LAID EYES UPON.

https://kerbalspaceprogram.com/

Basically, it's fucking rocket science but in a game.

So far, I was just fecking around, in orbit, but I'm slowly learning what I need in order to land on the surface of the Mun by using FUCKING SCIENCE AND MATH.

Sadly, my last attempt to land on the Mun resulted in some deaths... So, I've modified my system and I'm going to be ATTEMPTING THAT SHIT AGAIN.

Seriously, anyone else play this bitch?

Random lnsanity / So RIA... It's about time we had a talk...
« on: August 07, 2013, 01:44:00 pm »
Now, RIA, Your starting to get older, and you might notice some "changes" soon.  Nothing major, just some new hair in strange places and potentially confusing feelings that you might have towards the other alliances.  It's nothing to be afraid of, everyone goes through them when they start to get your age.  You might not pay any attention to one alliance one day, then BAM the next day, you can't get your mind off of them.  Now, no one can really say what type of alliance is "right" for you, and even if you decide that you might not like maroon alliances exclusively, we will still love you.  Just make sure that when the time comes, your both ready, and use adequate protection.

I'm here if you have questions or need me.

They grow up so fast...

Yup. Obama travels to South Africa costing $100 Million, while not even 5% of that could have covered the 4th of July fireworks for all the military bases in the US that had to cancel due to budget cuts.

THANKS OBAMA.

Seriously.  I never gave any attention to regular show at first because of it's incredibly stupid looking commercials.  However, after watching an episode I was instantly hooked forever.  Maybe it's because of all the 80s/90s references I remember growing up with, or maybe it's the fact that they use awesome older music to great effect.  Like so:

The Mississippi Queen

Regular Show- Pops Singing "Footloose" (Karaoke Video)

Regular Show: Ballroom Blitz

Regular Show - Working For The Weekend

Seriously.  Add to it, that Mark Hamill does many of the voices, and you've got a show you NEED to watch.

Random lnsanity / El Burrito King ***UPDATE***
« on: May 18, 2013, 02:16:17 am »
So, as many of you know, I've been distracted from HOIA duties a bit because El Burrito King has been taking up so much of my time and I'd figure I would give you some updates:

Firstly, we eventually raised $685 from Indiegogo, with another $1,000 from an independent donation, and $500 from me, so thats everyone who donated.

We've been stretching that money as far as we could, and have managed to complete 2 days worth of shooting so far, with 3-4 more scheduled.

Our first day, despite a nearby Trail Derailment was a complete success.  We got all 29 shots we wanted as well as all the coverage for the first 2 scenes.

Out second filming day, however, was not quite so good.  In fact, it is known by the crew only as "The Fiasco".  First, we had reserved the camera (the RED Epic) about a month ahead of time, and someone else didn't return it on time, so we got it the morning of the shoot instead of the night before, but that wasn't too big of an issue.  Second, we were going to pay this woman $200 to use her car for 2 days (it's a classic car) and she cancelled at 7am.  We got a replacement (not as good, but free), so that was solved.
Then, at 11:20am, 40 minutes before the first shot was schedule, An insurance issue.  We had a single wrong signature on all the insurance paperwork, and thus we had to enter a hold until we got it sorted (which took nearly 2 hours).
So, we got ready to begin at 2pm, 2 hours behind schedule.  I was moving the prop gun from my vehicle to the actor, when a WILD UNDERCOVER POLICE OFFICER appeared at the very worst possible moment.  After sorting the issue of it being a prop guy out, we continued.
Then, suddenly, Our director sat in a chair that decided it was "too old" and broke.
Continuing on, after we shot for about 3 hours, the camera decided to malfunction.  Once it was operational again, a light "Caught fire".

I think there were a few more issues, but those were the big ones.

All in all, we got about half the shots we wanted, but were confident we'll get the rest the day we return (in 10 days).

If you guys are interested in more updates, or photos from the shoots, find us on facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/El-Burrito-King/491316540927916

Hope to see you guys on the page!

I made it past the first round of selection for Interns.  My main question now, is do I use this opportunity to further my career, or kill Michael Bay?

Probably gonna bite the bullet and go with furthering my career...
