Looks like they decided to abandon that previous idea of a "FPS on the Wii" where you were some sort of investigator.  Also, glad to see they didn't cover-based shooter it as well.

I'm actually fairly pleased with what I've seen so far, it looks like they went back to the roots and gave us the X-com that we know and love.

I have to say, Fireaxis had earned my money for no other reason than the fact that they listened to what the fanbase wanted, and changed their original concept to match it.  Most of us X-com fans didn't want a FPS or a that atrocity that they were saying would be a wii game, we wanted a remake.  And they gave us a re-imagining close enough to the original to still please the fans, but altered enough to make it friendly to those who haven't played before.

Defiantly gonna get this in october.

So yea, went to see the Blue Angels at the Chicago Air show today (after all, they've woken me up in the damn morning EVERY DAY this week), and didn't bring sunscreen.  I'm fairly certain that I'm going to die...  It was however, worth it.

Had the last day of rehersals today, and I'm officially holding positions on the film.  It's set for release winter or spring, and filming starts june 2nd.

Best Boy Grip/Electric

It's gonna be hell for the month of June, but this is going to be great for me.  Besides, how many people get their own page on IMDB?

I need someone to interview for this shitty class I'm in.  Was anyone here alive for the 1960's?

Just wanna say that I used to watch movie credits, and when I'd see like, a dozen people listed as a grip or electric, I was like, WAT?  Y U NEED SO MANY?  Now I know.

We had 3 people working as grips/electrics.  So, the 3 of us setup about a dozen lights, built the rigs, and made sure everything was set.  Then, the camera operators/cast arrived.  They'd shoot for about 15 minutes on the green screen, then we would change up EVERYTHING so they could shoot again.  On top of that, the AC wasn't working, so we had about a dozen 1k lights putting out about a TRILLION degrees of heat, and we were moving equipment that weighed about 30-40lbs each.

So, next time I see a grip/electric listed in the crew of a movie, I'm going to know EXACTLY the hell they go through.

You know, many people don't understand exactly what goes into a movie, but as I learn more and more, 2 things are happening to me:

1.  I can pick out when something is done bad, as well as what type of equipment/technique is used when/where

2. I become more and more surprised that movies turn out as well as they do.
