Discuss the Canadian Constitutional Crisis.

The above self-made picture shows my contempt for Canadian conservatism.

No, that's Steven Harper, conservative party (centre-right to right-wing) PM. I'm stating I hate Harper's sharp egotistical leftist-bashing. I'm a social democrat.

In case you didn't know, his party tried to improve economic condition by banning all federal employee strikes and eliminating all party funding, which would cripple all major political parties... except the conservatives. So the Liberal Party (centre-left) and the NDP (social democracy, leftist) have formed a coalition with support with the Bloc Quebecois (quebec-only, separatist, social democratic, leftist) to overtake the conservatives.

I don't think the Liberals and NDP shoud've tried taking power like this. If the people trusted the Liberals and the NDP enough they would've elected their MPs, but they didn't. I do agree it was a stupid move by Harper to try and cut the voting subsidaries, which would've pretty much made the other parties collapse. Once he retracted doing this there really was no reason for this coalition to keep going.
Also, I hate Quebec.

in general I hate both sides equally. traditionalists dont know why they are traditional, which defeats the point of a tradition (its usefulness), and progressives have made a tradition out of anti-traditionalism, which is as stupid as it sounds. they're just two heads of the same two headed ogre.

as for canada well I'm not that educated about it but, I think if party funding has to do with campaigning and advertising, then that is not the gov's concern, but if it has to do with actually entering someone as a candidate, the gov should provide equal means to the citizens' parties.
