The directors and writers basically wanted to stuff "Gladiator" inside "Titanic", and the result is about as terrible as you imagine it would be.

Whatever. It has a volcano eruption in it.

That earns 1 star automatically, and I bet there are hot chicks too, which makes it at least 2 stars. Oh, and a post-apocalyptic environment (even a local one), earns another star, so it is up to 3/5 and I haven't seen it yet.

What would really throw it over the top would be an F-22, a large robot or lizard, a six shooter, a tommy gun, a nuclear explosion, or a sub-plot that takes place in space.

this is really an under-capitalized genre. even if you count 2012. it was a big part of what made dante's peak watchable. I'd like to see more volcano movies.

I read this again and suddenly became hungry. was having stuffed peppers earlier -- they were stuffed with olives, which were themselves stuffed with garlic and capers.

I guess it stands to reason that whatever makes food appealing to americans would also be applied to the entertainment industry here
