New Member Portal / Cybernations Tournament Edition
« on: October 23, 2009, 02:43:41 am »
Cybernations Tournament Edition is an action packed condensed version of Cybernations.
If you are finding your trigger finger itching and want to blow stuff up go here and create a nation and just go crazy.

There is a Random Insanity Alliance over there as well for you to join if you wish.
TE goes for 60 days and of course the goal is to be ranked number one. It is a good place to learn more about CN and different growth strategies as well as get some experience in fighting wars.

Here is the link the Cybernations TE: http://tournament.cybernations.net/default.asp

There is also an area on the RIA boards for you to discuss anything related to Tournament Edition: http://rialliance.net/index.php?showforum=547

Be aware that the two version of Cybernations are pretty separate. The politics of Cybernations in Standard Edition has very little to do with that in TE. But regardless of who you attack in Cybernation TE please conduct yourself in a respectable manner. Acting like a complete douche will follow you back here.

New Member Portal / Having problems in the RIA?
« on: October 23, 2009, 02:34:14 am »
If you are having any problems in the RIA, whether it be with the alliance or with a certain member please talk to us about it. Don't keep it silent and have it grow into a big issue.

Any government member will help you out with any problems you have if you don’t want them publically known. There are also plenty of other senior members that will help you out if your problems happen to be with the RIA government.

Just send us a message on the boards on ingame, or come onto IRC for a chat.

The current government is:

Triumvir: Thunder Strike, Delta1212, and Shadow
Head of Recruitment: Ogaden
Head of Economics: uchiha
Head of Internal Affairs: Jenne
Head of Military Operations: C-zom
Head of Foreign Affairs: King Death II

New Member Portal / Edumication Annex
« on: October 23, 2009, 02:33:12 am »
The Edumication Annex is filled with information on how to build your nation and how to play the game. The pinned topics are especially useful.

Here is the link: http://rialliance.net/index.php?board=345.0

A guide to reaching 20k Nation Strength in around 4 months is a must read for new members to learn how to get the most out of your nation (also I wrote it so you have to read it)
Nation Building Guide is another good guide that explains a lot of the finer points about running your nation

This is also a place for you to ask any questions you have about the game.

New Member Portal / Alliance Goals
« on: October 23, 2009, 02:31:48 am »
This is a just a little topic to let you know what the RIA is all about and what we aim to achieve in Cybernations.

The opening to the RIA ConstRItutions sums up our alliance pretty well.

Quote
The Random Insanity Alliance affirms its belief in the ideals of whatever it chooses to believe.

Umm yeah, we just like to have fun and do whatever we feel like.

Anyway we do have serious long term growth goals.
First the RIA would like to get sanctioned, which means getting in the top 12 alliances in Cybernations.
Secondly our current goal is to get 4000 nukes by the end of the year. So to help out the RIA it would be great for you to gear your nation to eventually getting nuclear weapons. When it comes to nukes, size matters.

New Member Portal / Military Brigades
« on: October 23, 2009, 02:30:52 am »
The Military Brigades are the military arm of the RIA (duh)
They are divided up into different strength ranges. Here are the different brigades and the sign up topics for each.

Duke Brigade (over 50k nation strength)
http://rialliance.net/index.php?board=341.0

Profit Brigade (35k-50k nation strength)
http://rialliance.net/index.php?board=340.0

Painkiller Brigade (20k-35k nation strength)
http://rialliance.net/index.php?board=338.0

Florida Brigade (10k-20k nation strength)
http://rialliance.net/index.php?board=339.0

Nubbetry Brigade (under 10k nation strength)
http://rialliance.net/index.php?board=336.0

Most of you will be signing into Nubbetry if your nation is newly created. Signing up for Brigades helps out the RIA a lot since it allows us to organise our members and have them ready for war.

Please go and sign up to a brigade now.

New Member Portal / Cactuar University
« on: October 23, 2009, 02:30:00 am »
The Cactuar University is a program we run where we teach you how to manage and grow your nation effectively and at the end of it we give you 12mil in aid to help you on your way. It is done via IRC in a one-on-one talk with a tutor who will share all their tips and illusions about Cybernations with you.

By the end of it you will know how to best spend that money and your nation will be growing quicker than you would have ever thought possible.

Here is a link to a topic with more info about the Cactuar University: http://rialliance.net/index.php?topic=35557.0

New Member Portal / Tech Farm
« on: October 23, 2009, 02:28:53 am »
One of the quickest way new members can make money is to do Tech Deals.
The RIA has its own Tech Farm where you sign up and older members buy Tech from you.
The current price is 6mil for 150 tech which if you do it correctly leaves you with around 3.5mil from every Tech Deal.

Talk about quick growth huh?

This program is very important for the alliance as a whole as well as it ensures larger nations get a steady flow of tech while our younger nations and constantly pumped full of money. We really need every RIA member to sign up to this.

Here is the link to the Tech Farm: http://rialliance.net/index.php?showforum=365
Please go and sign up as a Tech Seller now.

New Member Portal / Introductory Topic
« on: October 23, 2009, 02:27:46 am »
So, you are now a full member of the RIA. This should be viewed and a very important event in your life.

This area is to help you learn what the RIA can do for you, and what you can do for the RIA.
The boards can be a confusing place so this area will help explain where some of the important things for new members are located.
Please have a good read over all the pinned topics in the forum as each of them will help you.

But before you go off exploring the other topics I’d like you to do one thing.
Please create a New Topic in this forum introducing yourself to everyone in the alliance. Say whatever you want whether it is just ‘Hi’ or giving us your life story. Above all the RIA wants our members to be active and feel like they are truly part of the RIA and the only way to do that is to get to know other people in the alliance.

Random lnsanity / District 9
« on: August 14, 2009, 10:03:58 pm »
So I saw District 9 yesterday. Best movie I have seen in a long time.

It had a good story line and because I knew nothing of it before hand it was full of twist and turns. It had awesome graphics and the details on the aliens were stunning. I also thought it was a good commentary on human nature and power.

I don't know if this will offend many people as well but I found it refreshing to watch a non-US based movie that was free of all the Hollywood garbage.

Anyway go and watch it.

The best way to enjoy CN and enjoy the RIA is to be active on these boards.

So say Hi.

And if I catch any new people reading this topic and not replying I'm gonna kick your ass

Random lnsanity / I need a caption for these photos.
« on: February 09, 2009, 04:08:58 am »
I made these photos a few years ago in LA.
And I'd like to see what the RIA can come up with as captions for these photos.
I guess the second photo only needs a caption but the first one makes the second one look even wierder.

These photos are mine, they belong to me. So copyright and such .... bla bla bla.

Random lnsanity / Fishing
« on: February 05, 2009, 10:08:29 pm »
I enjoy a bit of fishing, I'm not really an expert at it but just love spending a day out on the water going fishing in the morning and mooring at an island in the afternoon and going for a swim. Maybe a little spear fishing, although all we have is a Hawaiian sling. But still good fun.
I went out on our boat earlier this week and had an awesome day fishing and caught all sorts.

We had a school of sprats come near the boat and a school of Kahawai that were hunting them. All the while Gannits and other sea birds were diving all around us. I caught a monster Kahawai, although we put it back, don't ask why ...
There was also a school of Trevally which sat below us all day and we must have caught about 20 or so legal Trevally, but we only kept what we need. We also caught a few Snapper and my little brother managed to hook a stringray through the back which he couldn't get in so I had to, it took me about 20 minutes or so. It didn't fight much but it was so heavy that it put a lot of pressure on the rod and the line kept dragging back out again. He also hooked a Trevally on the bottom hook, first time we bought up two sea Land Fish at once. We of course let the stingray go, not something you want to bring on your boat. Speaking of which I also caught a barracuda a few weeks ago, fucking nasty things. They are all infested with worms here so you can't even eat them. It bit through the line once we had it in the net so we didn't have to get our fingers anywhere near it's mouth .
My little brother also managed to lasso a snapper, the line went in one side of it's mouth, out the other side and up around it's top fin. He managed to bring it up without the hook ever being in the sea Land Fish. But our bait ran out because the Trevally were taking it like crazy.

So then we went to an island and relaxed and did some snorkelling and just mucked around. I had a go with the Hawaiin sling and managed to get a 62cm sea Land Fish. We think it is a Sea Perch but are not 100% sure on that. Pretty good considering I can hardly see a thing without my glasses  There were also plenty of Parore around but they are a crap eating sea Land Fish so there was no point in spearing them.

Anyway, anyone else into fishing here and have any stories to tell?
