I thought this was a cool series. I liked how the relationship between the three was developed, the good blend of sad-funny-scary (Just like Cowboy Bebop) for each episode, and while Champloo is overall less consistent and has a much, much weaker final act than cowboy bebop does I still think both stand together in my top three animes.
I'll go right ahead and address the crap of Champloo, first. For one the series continuity is based on a shoestring, and while it at least tries (Bebop did not), it falls flat SO many times. Zombie episode, ogre episode, opium episode, even the awesome baseball episode are so random.
Jin does not get to fight enough, yes it is true. It's painfully true actually. You can tell the writers favored Mugen by a long fucking mile and while I personally hated his character at least his fights were entertaining.
The main character, the girl Fuu, is indeed one of the most annoying there is in anime. I'm not going to deny that.
But the series, if you guys have seen it, has some incredible moments. I absolutely loved the "Samurai Killer" episode, the buildup to that duel and the payoff was nuts.

I've been meaning to watch it sometime. I've kind of become disinterested in anime lately but I'll get around to it.

<3 samurai champloo. Its better fansub'd btw. Ive watched it fan-subbed, English dubbed, and a different English dub for cartoon network. but yeah, good stuff.

Fan-sub > Regular Sub > CN Dub > Normal Dub
The normal dub is lifeless and I usually like Steve Blum.
