Honestly, the UK is more of an alliance than a country. Scotland, Wales, and England are all countries of the UK, and Northern Ireland is a state.

The bull thing is that the English parlament has power to revoke the parliaments of Scotland and Wales, and also has complete control of Northern Ireland.
