I noticed some of you play it. True it's a free MMO, but the software you need to play it costs a fortune, just the delta missions expansion pack costs 149 dollars, to buy everything would cost something like 3 grand. has anyone made a freeware clone of it with GPL licensed game software?

« on: December 12, 2014, 05:46:05 am »
basically say you have a alien civilization, they have more technology than god, yet they never once in their history figured out how to generate or use electricity. what form of energy transport would they likely be using to power their gadgets?
what does our universe offer other than electrons to transport energy and power devices/technology?
they have loads of technology, yet they don't know how to make or use electricity, what are they likely using?
idk if photons would be energetic enough to transport energy and be used as a stand in for electricity, if so how would it work? remember this civilization doesn't know what electricity is so obviously they're not using it. if not photons what else would stand in for electricity to power technology/computers etc?

Remember this is spam so speculation is ok. Imagination is ideal. it must be scientifically feasible though but not constrained by limited earth science.

I'm curious, does our universe offer alternative forms of energy transport OTHER THAN electricity?
like are there other sub atomic particles that can do the same things as electrons? would them forms of energy transport be cheaper than electricity? or harder to harvest etc? I'm not asking about alternative ways to generate electricity, I'm asking what sub atomic particles could replace electricity altogether? What sub atomic particles could a civilization use for energy transport other than electrons?

Hearts of Iron 3 players will tell you you'd need to do more than that :v
that game is amazing/a curse

also, to OP: Germany could, with some insanely lucky breaks, win the war with the USSR (it'd probably require Japan tbh and a much easier Balkans campaign). But they'd never manage Sea Lion. England itself would never fall. And the US would beat them to the bomb. Germany was a decade away at best.

in the scenario, Einstein (The project head of project trinity) is born in Germany, and invents the bomb there. Rather than being born in the US, Einstein's family stays in Germany, he's born there and is inducted into the NAZI party as a scientist. Von Braun also completes the vengeance 10 project, giving Germany the world's first Intercontinental Ballistic Missile, the V10 ICBM aka the New York Model. Without Einstein, the US never invents the bomb, Basically a reversal of the real situation. Ofcourse this hinges on the Luftwaffe managing to mass produce the ME-109 jet fighter and eradicating the RAF in the battle of Britain, and dealing the US Army Air Corp a rather significant defeat in the airborne battle of France. RAF and USAF lose = no bomber missions over central Germany. Ofcourse there's still that nasty soviet airforce. They have hitting power but not long range fighters to escort bombers. Given the USSR was defensive, their fighters were intercept/air superiority fighters, they weren't long range escort fighters.

Bear in mind this is pure fantasy, none of this is serious, it's just a way to kill time. it is not meant to offend ANYBODY and sorry if it does.

Spam / Axis victory in world war 2 alternate history.
« on: December 10, 2014, 12:20:06 pm »
In my scenario it pretty much plays out the same except a couple exceptions.
1. The Luftwaffe wins the battle of France and Britain, annihilating the RAF.
2. Germany wins the battles of Stalingrad, Kursk and invades Leningrad, scoring a victory. the USSR surrenders.
3. Germany throws everything west, launches operation sea lion, England gets crushed.
4. German scientists get a working nuke in 1944, nukes New York and Washington DC, the United States surrenders to Germany and Japan.

How is the world different today? How would an Axis victory change our history since 1947 and our world today?
