If I cut one of your pinky fingers off, it won't make you stronger in any way. It's too debilitating to make you physically stronger, and not severe enough to raise your spirit and give you a new perspective of life. >_>
-
That which does not kill you, cripples you severely. Have fun being hand feed from a spoon and having the drool wiped off of your chin for the rest of your life.
-
Depends on the person. Some lucky people become bionically enhanced. Others die from either complications or suicide. The middle ground are people who remain unchanged.
-
It is better to be crippled in body than corrupt in mind.
>_> Topic over.

It's a lie,no matter what people tell you they're never better off than before. What does not kill you is only another speedbump on our converging journeys towards our graves. You may have a new outlook and therefore believe that you are better, but this is simply a self hypnosis to distract you from the fact that even though you didn't die today, you will eventually.

That which does not kill me only makes me stronger*
*Unless it's some sort of permanent physical injury or ailment including but not limited to: severed limbs, paralysis, chronic degenerative diseases, and so on.

It also depend on psychological matters. As the ugly duck, people who have lived a despair life, has more opportunities to admire happiness, but we, the people who had many things in life, things that can't kill us, but things that can make us a little retarded on admire and have real happiness.
How fortunate the man with none!

"Never wound what you can't kill."

Strangely, if you read a few select stories in history, you'll find quite a few instances of people who have been deliberated and yet continue to do great things. Helen Keller, anyone?
