Random lnsanity / Facebook hilarity
« on: March 09, 2014, 03:03:48 pm »
Okay I can't resist anymore. I don't really have anywhere else that is safe to post this but this guy... is just ridiculous. I've known him in RL since I was in 10th grade.

He is like a RL version of reddit and I think he met his current girlfriend online(?). Not that there is anything against meeting people online, there isn't and they seem to be living together now. But I swear he has met his girl version of himself.

Some really stupid moments that you ask yourself later why did I do that?

For me, I felt really great this morning when I went for an interval run.. but I am starting to regret that now that I remember I have to be here until 9 PM and I woke up at 5 AM to run. But yay, running.

I also managed to fall down after 8 years of not falling at Disney.

Random lnsanity / Cheap gift ideas?
« on: February 16, 2012, 12:37:01 pm »
Yeah I know this is a weird place to ask but I am asking everywhere I can. I figure the more ideas I can access, the better chance I have of considering something I might not have thought of otherwise. So basically here is the gist: me broke college student but ability to write poems, make music videos, I could probably even film something to music.

Suggestions that I am looking for - if anyone knows anything about scrapbooking, what is the best way to go about it? Leave pages for her to fill in? I am trying to cheer her up since life is pretty down on her lately. I am a terrible drawer, so I was thinking copying and pasting things, then printing it out. I also have a scanner, can stalk her Facebook. I can't get access to her childhood photos. But since it is to cheer her up, I was thinking more of poems, photos of her. Then maybe leave the rest for her to scrapbook on her own? Thoughts?

I was thinking of making a bracelet but that doesn't really seem special plus they break easily if made by hand. Usually too fragile to make. Plus I could end up making it too big (she is quite twiggy

Another thing I was thinking of maybe my friend and I would practice performing a music skit to Lean On Me or Love in Any Language, a good friendship song. As I said, it is supposed to be about her and not the baby.

Also thoughts on whether bringing frozen pizzas or cooking tacos or something beforehand would be better? It is for her 21st birthday (of course she is pregnant, so it is not like she can drink XD). I am not sure how to make it overly special since obviously there is not going to be any alcohol involved here given she is pregnant.

And yes you may be silly :P

Random lnsanity / IRC destroys and helps homework
« on: December 11, 2011, 03:28:26 am »
Well I've learned that IRC distracts you from your homework and also helps you. I managed to defeat my last homework assignment in six hours straight (finally finished) but without someone's help on IRC, probably would have been even longer. (No it is not due on Monday). But I also received 2-3 government queries while trying to hide. Oh how I hate and love IRC for homework. :(

Random lnsanity / Why are cats so weird?
« on: December 04, 2011, 04:39:07 pm »
So my cat has developed two new habits: one my stepmom is very large due to many disabilities/diseases that make her gain weight, so she doesn't really have a lap to sit on. My cat after 2 years has finally figured out that hey, boobs are good as a lap too, right?! I am starting the countdown to when my family stops spoiling my cat or my cat is declared overlord of the house.

The second thing is I am in the bathroom, my cat has this strange habit picked up at my old house where she sticks her paw under the door to be let in (I can't hear her meow). The bathroom has two doors, I go out that one, close it,the cat goes around through the other door, I go looking for her. She is sitting besides the other bathroom door wanting to be let out. The other door was open and she went through it to get in the bathroom.

Why are cats so weird and what weird habits do your cats have? (And if you're a cat hater, feel free to hate on cats and say I should get a dog. :P)

So I may end up graduating with a BA in management by next fall... that is before my 21st birthday. I will be old enough to manage a store containing alcohol but not old enough to drink any of it. Irony?

Random lnsanity / My child is injured, are you gay?

I can completely see this happening. Go to the doctor, they start asking you for your symptoms or your children's symptoms. First question out of your mouth, "Are you gay?" I wonder how one determines if the nurse or doctor is gay. Is it how they tilt their head, they walk or how tilted their name tag is? Maybe it is even how they measure your weight!

Random lnsanity / Good old days
« on: October 18, 2011, 12:09:42 pm »
I was walking to university today (yay accounting D:) when there was a huge pile of leaves on a long stretch of sidewalk. I cannot remember the last time I have walked through leaves  or made a pile of leaves. So of course, what do I do? Make a pile of leaves and kick them up, messing up the sidewalk for everyone walking behind me. :D

When was the last time you did something you haven't done since a child?

Random lnsanity / Twilight kills IRL (Vampire bat virus? O.o)

2010 death first U.S. known case of vampire bat rabies virus

(CNN) -- Federal health authorities reported Friday the first report of human rabies in the United States linked to a vampire bat rabies virus.

The incident occurred a year ago, when the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed a case of rabies in a 19-year-old migrant worker who was hospitalized in Louisiana with inflammation of the brain, the agency said in its Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.

The man had developed neurologic symptoms at the end of July 2010, shortly after arriving in the United States from Mexico. After a day of work on a sugarcane plantation in Louisiana, he sought medical care for fatigue, left shoulder pain, and left hand numbness -- symptoms that were initially blamed on exertion. But his symptoms continued and he was sent to a hospital in New Orleans.

There, an examination revealed hypersensitivity of the left shoulder, weakness of the left hand, underactive reflexes, and drooping of the left eyelid.

Doctors suspected Guillain-Barré syndrome, a syndrome in which the body's immune system attacks the nerves, or meningitis, an inflammation of the membranes covering the brain.

Over the next few days, as the patient's condition deteriorated, doctors began to suspect -- based on the worsening symptoms -- that he had rabies.

On August 20, that diagnosis was confirmed by testing. The patient died the next day.

Postmortem tests revealed he had been infected with a vampire bat rabies virus, the CDC said.

Rabies virus causes progressive brain inflammation that is almost always fatal if treatment is not begun before the onset of symptoms.

The man's mother said he had been bitten by a bat in July in Mexico but had not sought treatment. Though bats are the primary source of human rabies in the United States, this is the first reported death from a vampire bat rabies virus in the United States, the disease agency said.

Bat rabies virus has been associated with most indigenously acquired human rabies cases in the United States for some 20 years. During the past decade, vampire bats have become the leading cause of human rabies in Latin America.

The CDC urged doctors caring for patients with acute progressive inflammation of the brain to consider rabies as a possible cause, and to recognize that recent travel to a country with rabies could be a risk factor.

Since 2000, eight of the 32 human rabies cases reported in the United States were acquired from exposures abroad -- two of them from Mexico.

Though vampire bats are found only in Latin America, their range may be expanding into the United States due to climate change, the report said.

Bats have been implicated in the transmission of a number of infectious diseases.

I liked FireFox version 3.8 and then they had to get a new version 5.0 layout that looks like Opera's? Why? Why do companies like to force us into one style? I want to declare war on FireFox now.  :slapfight:

Random lnsanity / Far too often we take things for granted...
« on: August 09, 2011, 08:56:48 pm »
Rascal Flatts - Why - Every 40 Seconds Someone Asks ... Why?

Too often we take people for granted and the world is a harsh place. Often times we have no idea what is going on in the minds of those around us and by the time we do - it is too late. The world is a harsh place and we often get so used to those around us, we forget the gift they're worth, the value they bring to our life despite the harshness of the world. So tell a friend, tell someone you haven't told in a while a compliment for praise is far too often rare in this world. We forget to look and be grateful for what we do have in that moment, far too focused on the negativity and we forget until it is already gone. So take a moment and thank someone you care for today.
