Another great place for torrents. I like to avoid streaming sites like the plague, though subbed streams can usually be found on the Licensor's site or even hulu.

Crescendo is good. I didn't care for Snow Sakura all that much, but it was fun.

I gotta say, though, I'm not so much into the whole Eroge thing, I just like a good story. My favorites are probably Yume Miru Kusuri and Fate/Stay night.

Post by: Gangs on November 18, 2009, 02:02:22 pm: There's this site called Veoh.com, dunno if you've heard of it, i haven't been there but i was viewing bleach episodes and episode 29 i think used a veoh video and even though it took a bit of time to load, i have never seen or heard a clearer video...you want to check that out, also i know how much you people must hate Real player but i usually use real player download to dload any video i want...on some sites if you've buffered the video, then the dload is instant, used to work like that for youtube too but it doesn't anymore, you have to wait for the entire thing to dload...

PS: the PLAYER took time to load, the buffering was super fast...

and frankly i dont think anything is wrong with dubs, the sound EFFECTS stay the same, the voice acting is more then often dumb i know, but it works...better then lisnin to Ching Chuag Cha and shit and not getting it, i just know the numbers 1-10 in japanese and i know what watashi wa means...thats it...

It's just a matter of practice.
Voice acting is almost universally better in Japanese (a couple of notable exceptions here: arguably FMA, definitely Fruits Basket).

There is also the problem of not all anime (not even a sizable chunk of it) having been dubbed in English.
There are fansubbed versions of pretty much everything you can think of (from the last 20 years anyway) though.

This would be fine if the English-language voices weren't completely and utterly ridiculous and annoying most of the time.

That, and you have ADR Directors like Kristi Reed (known as the 'Butcher of Dubs') who insist on having their cast brutally fuck up the pronunciations of just about every Japanese word that can't be translated (because it's a name, for example).

don't forget to mention the hentai stuff V_V

shows with likable/good dubs: FMA, Black Lagoon, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop (<3 Steven Blum), Hellsing Ultimate (only watch this OVA - don't bother with the other series), Welcome to the NHK. and most of the Miyazaki films comes with good voice acting.
