http://www.heritage.org/Research/Reports/2010/09/Obama-Tax-Hikes-Bad-for-All-Americans
President Obama’s tax plan will, famously, end the 2001 and 2003 tax relief for Americans earning $250,000 a year or more. But, far from raising taxes only on the “rich,” the widespread effects of the Obama plan will hurt Americans at every income level. If Congress adopts the President’s plan, it will eliminate all the growth-promot ing policies in the 2001 and 2003 tax relief packages, slow ing down economic growth and job creation at a time when the economy is struggling to recover from the Great Reces sion. Heritage Foundation tax policy expert Curtis Dubay reminds that higher taxes have never closed budget deficits, and explains why the Obama plan is bad for all Americans.
I expect Demotards to come in and make their case, please cite your sources though. I know this is hard to do for the democrats, but please don't troll this topic with your Demopropaganda.

Tax those fuckers more, re-introduce the 91% rate

Tax hard working Americas, ask China for more money

Naw, he wants to cut taxes, and then raise Government spending.
I read it in my local paper.
You can't have it both ways.

Not raising taxes, letting tax cuts expire. Bush planned it this way so its his fault, not Obama.
-
Raise taxes.
Introduce a new tax bracket a 1 million, 10 million and 100 million, with a +10%, +20% and +30% cumulative hikes
That deficit will be paid off in no time

Sure you can. It's called being a Republican.

You Canadians and your silly government solutions
-
that likely means those making 100 million will be paying like 80% taxes, lol.
That's not very american.
But idk, bush tax cuts got us into a deficit, taxes will still be lower than Reagen era, etc. talking point etc.

America has the lowest tax rates of any industrial country on the planet
Absolutely, 100% untrue. A couple middle-eastern countries have 1-3% tax rates. Let me arrange a few of these from smallest to highest
United Arab Emirates; 1.4%
Kuwait; 1.5%
Oman; 2%
Qatar; 2.2%
Bahrain; 2.3%
Libya; 2.7%
Saudi Arabia; 5.3%
United States; 28.2%
Before you say these are not "Industrial nations", lets arrange these countries by annual purchasing power per person. [PPPGDP]
Kuwait $84,304
Qatar $83,840 [Dont be fooled by this silly "arabs living in tents" bull crap. These are the two richest populaces on the planet]
United States $46,381
United Arab Emirates $36,175.966
Bahrain $27,068
Oman $25,109
Oman $25,109
Saudi Arabia $23,701.260
Libya $14,328
Actually, the government in the USA occupies a higher percentage of GDP than the government in North Korea or any other communist government with the exception of Cuba and only just Laos.
DPRK $2.98b/$28.2b, 10.6%
Less than half the relative size of the US government.
Not that they are industrial...

Being a Minnesotan, I don't mind high taxes. It's what the taxes are used for that counts.

K, this topic got me thinking what my tax increase would actually be. This site tries to break it down (simplistic, but prob a good rough estimate): http://www.mytaxburden.org/
I could be a Republican troll and say that "MY TAXES ARE GOING UP 15% ZOMGWTFBBQ GLEN BECK IS MY HERO"
or I could be a Democratic troll and say that "It's a few thou $$ increase, which sucks, but it was money that I would've saved anyway and not spent (and I can truthfully say that), so it wouldn't have helped the economy (besides help shore up banks balance sheets, but the 0% discout rate is doing that plenty). And the deficit really can't afford extending all the tax cuts, so bummer".
-
Interesting that the democrat plan and the republican plan net me exactly the same tax.
edit: Obama plan saves me money
