Random lnsanity / legendary trolling of comics readers
« on: June 08, 2014, 02:08:05 am »
note: read in order for maximum lols

first, the comics, within spoilers so kenny can't read them

a new character is introduced in a comic I had never heard of before this:

and the character, a 2nd grader, ostensibly proceeds to draw the next 3 strips of the artists' comic for him

note the comments, which are hilarious in retrospect, where people are snubbing the new artist's work and trying to guess who it is. first one is mostly derogatory, second, people are impressed, third, they're just tragically confused.

who dat artist tho

Random lnsanity / llamavore\s daring survival stories VOL21

So this happened. I was biking home from 34th/archer. crossed one intersection where the timer was giving me right of way, but the guy wasn't looking so I was worried. was saying 'I have right of way, i have right of way.' he stayed put.

So I was like, wow, I must be tense about getting hit. Thinking, how many times have I nearly gotten hit at intersections... 3? 4? etc. etc. brain making small talk with itself as I approach another intersection. This one is blind and there's basically Never anyone coming out of it.

Little silver car hurtling toward me about 40 mph trying to make the light. POP QUIZ HOT SHOT. slammed brakes, sharp turn, wipe out, landed on elbow, brushed against car, inches away. All in 2 seconds. I don't think she even saw me til I stood up and gave her the universal farewell with both hands. so close.

Someone walking their dog was there to console me. The driver came back and apologized. I told her making the light wasn't worth hitting someone. and not to worry about it. I think I was in shock, stared at my bike for a while, like I had just forgotten how to put the chain back on the gears. Somehow neither me nor the bike are damaged, except my arm is sore from landing on it.

Almost exhilarating. certainly an eye-opener. still forgetting to breathe lol

Make any salmon taste great, even if it's not fresh. takes 5 mins (+ time of cooking salmon, which I usually do on low heat)

requires:

lettuce, mayo, salt, lemon juice, and some cayenne powder (optional)

1. cut the lettuce into thin strips. at least 2 handfuls. I use scissors (clean, not rusty). Avoid cutting yourself with scissors. the butter lettuce I use often comes in small pieces, or you can just buy shredded lettuce.

2. mix lettuce in bowl with few gobs of mayo (I also use low fat here) and a squirt of lemon juice,  and add salt/pepper to taste. note that the cayenne is very powerful, more than a pinch and you won't be able to taste anything else.

3. apply to salmon. open mouth. apply salmon to face. tastes kind of like a big mac. also is low carb. if you get a really healthy brand of mayo, the whole thing is healthy.

you are now a cook and women love you. tip: use a fancier name for it if you feed it to a woman.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa my a key is broken now.

what I was going to say before that was that aaaaaaaa dammit.aa

let's try this again. I was going to say that .. well you know that feeling you get when you're posting a really good post? sometimes I get that feeling

and I see my llama count go up and i click llamas and my spitting llamas number is the same as before. but I check it anyway just to make sure, because maybe I misremmebered the number. but the last post to get the spitting llama is the same as it was last time I checked. disappointment!

but it occurs to me that it's the sensation of worthiness that really matters. feeling the llama. knowing that if I were someone else, I would have given me a potd for that post, and if some other someone else didn't, it's because they're not as good as another me would be.

aaa how do I fix this key, it's jammed down. I'ma bout to go caveman on my electronics

thx for reading here's some female ladypixels

Random lnsanity / need tech advice - installing new cpu fan
« on: August 08, 2013, 11:13:46 pm »
The reason I need a cpu fan in the first place is because I'm using a x6 core phenom II (normal processors have one core)

now, the reason I am replacing it is because I was cleaning it without an air canister so I used a very very soft (unused) toothbrush to remove dust, and ended up bending the fragile cpu fan a little bit. first it was snagging on some parts of the mount, so I went at it industriously with nail clippers, taking out chunks of the fan blades where it would hit the fan housing. but that bent it more. it still works but it rattles a bit and idk how much longer it has.

the problem is that the cpu fan in there now, the emotionally scarred one I did plastic surgery on, is a thermaltake maxorb, which instead of being screwed directly into the motherboard (AMD AM3+ or something like that), it sits on handy dandy little brackets that are themselves screwed in. the fan I ordered to replace does not use brackets, so I believe I may have to take the entire motherboard out to remove the brackets.

So, I need to know how to do that without destroying my computer, seeing as how my do-it-yourself cleaning adventure has already caused me more problems.

Also I am thinking about getting another nvidia gtx to go with mine since I have sli... the one I have now is 460... and I should probably get more RAM... MWO graphics are getting more demanding and I'm in a very large and active gaming group

At first I thought it might be a shrewd exposition on the sexual subtext of children's media, from Disney in particular. The original Disney lyrics really take on a new meaning with the rather simple insertions of explicit lyrics to suspend the illusion of innocence.

But then the tunes were so uplifting that I couldn't see it in such a cynical light. And it dawned on me; what's actually going on is quite the reverse. This doesn't represent perverted adults with a warped view of sexuality attempting to corrupt kids and eventually fill the world with similarly corrupt adults who don't make them feel like perverts...

On the contrary, it's a commentary, intentional or otherwise, on how many so called perverts are simply children in adult bodies. These people are applying the same carefree attitude of a child to the only part of adulthood that retains any mystery - the female body. They do this because, for whatever reason, the adult world has failed them. So they return to an earlier state to rediscover the part of themselves they've lost.

Also ariel seems like a stripper name

After several horrible experiences with redbox movies, I feel the need to help others avoid the same pitfalls.

Cloud Atlas: 1/5 stars

Film about people sorting through their karma through reincarnation. Pretentious, preachy, crappy makeup jobs, unnecessary homosexuality, the post-apocalyptic version of english is INCREDIBLY obnoxious. The neo-seoul storyline was interesting. Hanks and Berry didn't ruin that part, so, 1 whole star.

Random lnsanity / simcity 5 topic
« on: March 06, 2013, 01:28:54 am »
so far, most anticipated game of 2013. came out yesterday (the 5th). It's very multiplayer. there have been some server issues but I expect maxis to get on top of it.

for those who don't know of the simcity series, ... well, it's ... a really good city building simulator. google it.

changes I've noticed from previous iterations: maps are smaller, perhaps due to the glassbox engine, so that it doesn't create too much processor strain... but I don't think this puts a dent in the fun. it's easier to specialize and create coordinating cities... such as all residential cities, or educational cities so you can have another one with no schools. pretty much every service can be sold to another city or acquired from another city. regions range from having 3 to 16 city sites.

some things are simplified to streamline the game, but it doesn't seem to have dumbed it down at all, rather I think its more complex but also more intuitive; all the challenges and changes in the game are driven by actual agents... individual criminals, individual police, individual cars, everything.

2 things I love so far:

non perpendicular roads. with really great road mapping tools. allowing you to make perfect straight lines, perpendiculars, 90 degree arcs, circles, or just curves. although I think I'm going to miss being able to make experimental train cities with hardly any roads.

and also, upgradable buildings, in which you add on modular components, in a really intelligent fashion.

Anyway. type in your Origin usernames if you play. mine is AeusDeif.
