Judas Priest-Painkiller (http://youtube.com/watch?v=JAagedeKdcQ)
This song is insane. Two drum solos, three dueling guitar solos, more then four heavy metal screams, badass lyrics and story and a really good riff.
@_@ This song will blow your mind.
-
lol. Not Heavy metal.
-
Lol, is heavy metal.
Learn2music.

Are you joking Kaiser? Judas Priest pretty much made metal wat it is today when it came up and gave Punk a great backhand to the face!!! \m/ *_* \m/
*Puts on playlists of all Judas Priest songs and headbangs out of thread*
-
Amen Tomb, amen.
-
Judas Priest is probably the second most influential metal band after Sabbath, and "Painkiller" is probably one of the most badass, intense metal songs EVER. And they made it after the band was 20 years old to boot.
\m/
-
Me likes "Breaking the Law" and "You gotta another thing comin", and "Livin After Midnight" is one of my all time fav songs
-
Hey tomb did you happen to go to the "Unholy Alliance" Tour? and what about Ozzfest?
you going this year if there is one? I will be fucking there!
BTW Black Sabath > ALL
Iron Maiden > Everything Else
Judas Priest > Everything Beyond...
-
Dude i will be trying my hardest to go!
And btw not many (>_>) consider them but Zeppelin is in there too in my opinion
-
I actually hate Judas Priest and some other meal bands like them. Cheesy guitars, falsetto girl singing, it sounds horrible.
Mathcore and Grindcore ftw >_>

Christan Death Metal can only not give me a headache for so long :P
-
I prefer Death's cover, myself. Picture that song, but heavier and with far less cheesy guitars. And more power screams.

Also, Led Zep are far from metal.

"Zep is like old-mainstream metal"
- A friend of mine

This
They helped invent metal they and Sabbath are the Grandparents. Zep is just da grandparent all the grandkids deny being related to lol
-
Zeppelin is actually rock nowadays, but that was considered metal back then I guess. Judas Priest and Sabbath are the parents of metal, Zeppelin is nothing but an afterthought compared to them. =P
-
And Death's cover sucks. The drums sound like tin cans, the guitars are too quiet and Halford eats anyone alive in falsetto singing. Death's singer sounds like a pissed over six year old. Their cover sounds like a remake, not a cover/reimagination. It sucked.

This is true, This i agree w/ lol. Priest i would kinda consider the father of modern metal cuz Sabbath had a lot of the Blues, Folk and other music styles that Metal evolved from. Hence Judas Priest which as i said earlier climbed out of the ashes and gave punk a much needed kick to the balls! Hail Priest Hail Sabbath and in small print Hail Zeppelin lol

OMG it sounded like Vixen had returned and grew some balls and a penis. Oh the agony!!!
-
Judas is real metal. Sabbath is good, but like you said they had other elements in there too. Judas was duel-axe, double bass pounding metal. Real metal. \m/
-
I <3 Death's cover. It was the last song Death recorded before Chuck Schuldiner died or cancer - definitely the best way to go out. Covering a totally badass, balls to the wall song, I mean.
-
i have to be cool and add a reply
new metal<classic metal
and by < i mean gets buttraped by
classic metal is the shiiet
its great pull up next to ricers and start blaring ozzy so it drowns out their stupid music
-
btw, don't go insulting Death. They're probably the most influential metal band since Maiden. You know where death metal got its name? It came from that very band. Death not only invented death metal, but also popularized the signature death metal vocals.

Wait, there is a genre of music called Mathcore?!?!

Wait, there is a genre of music called Mathcore?!?!
Yes. Bands like Dillinger Escape Plan and Meshuggah fall into it, IIRC.

Better grindcore and vid, imo, though it might be closer to death metal.

Pig destroyer =D
Both on Relapse Records. Fuck the Facts are my favourite band because they're from Ottawa, they come to my city many times, and I actually know some of the members. Topon Das (AKA the brown guy) is fucking awesome IRL.

Holy shit, is that a PxDx song that's more than 2 minutes long?

Painkiller is one of my favorite albums.
-
The day Becoming the Archetype and Led Zeppelin are the same genre is the day people finally accept Slipknot as metal and nothing else. >_>
-
I agree that now-a-days Zeppelin is anything but metal but they laid down the foundation for metal...not as much as Sabbath did but enough. Look up the history or Heavy Metal one of these days. I have yet to see anywhere that doesn't have Zeppelin as a front runner to wat would later be called heavy metal. Judas Priest tossed Zeppelins and Sabbath blues based Heavy Metal out the window by removing most of the blues element and created heavy metal as we know it today.
-
But enough i surrender
Led Zeppelin =/= Todays Heavy Metal
Lol
Me? I'm an old school Rocker/Metalhead (if you couldn't already tell haha) recommend me some Bands

yeah prince were in the same boat...

Here's a final summary of this topic.
Judas Priest > Black Sabbath > Led Zeppelin.
