And minus the funny. <_< Since when is "Wizard" a slang word? Burger phone is not funny. She should have been shot. Ugh. It was so fake and lame.

Also, "wizard" is indeed a slang term.

In the frickin 60's. <_< Its an example on how hard the movie tried to be 'hip', and 'original.'

It's fucking amazing. The best comedy/romance/drama I've ever seen...and my favorite movie was Eternal Sunshine.

I decided I'd stop talking. But... if Juno was the best comedy you've soon, dude, you need to see more movies. <_< Let alone family, romance. Anyway I'm done. -Drives off-

I was actually using all three as a single descriptor. As a rule, I don't judge a comedy as one of my favorite films unless it goes beyond humor, which Juno did and then some.

Well, at least your favorite movie is a decent one. <_< Eternal wasn't bad at all.

I judge a comedy as one of my favorite films if it makes me laugh more than most other comedies. IMO, drama is boring.

Re-read the sentence more carefully and note Eternal Sunshine's genre.

I watch movies for their emotional effect on me. Some dramas are boring, others are amazing. Some comedies are hilarious, but don't achieve anything beyond humor.

If a movie is a drama, I watch it for some drama/emotion. If its a comedy, I only watch it for the laughs. If its an action, I watch it to see explosions. <_< Thats kinda rule of thumb. And there are good and bad ones for each. I really need to make a list of my favorite movies sometime.

If I wanted to achieve something other than humor, I'd watch some other movie. Like an action or horror... thing. I want my entertainment to be entertaining.

Obviously, I watch the just funny ones. Holy Grail is hilarious.

As I said, my favorite movies are those that affect me emotionally. Holy Grail doesn't achieve that, but Juno does.

EDIT: Bolded for emphasis.

<_< Holy Grail shouldn't effect you emotionally, its for laughs. Sounds like you're putting down normal comedies.

I'm not putting them down, I'm separating them into two categories:
-Simple entertainment
-Emotionally involved entertainment

I love watching the former, but I don't consider them among my favorite films, which are absolute works of art to me. Only the latter fulfills that to me.

I also only watch comedy for the laughs, action because of the explosions,...

i think there are two groups when talking about juno
-those who think it was an amazing movie that was not just funny but also emotional (specialy if you've had a problem like this)
-those who dont like it for some reason, be it they wanted something else or mabey they just found too many flaws in it
personaly i loved it because to me it seems so real (one of my good friends got an abortion just last week she is one of many around here doing just that)
