Title: In this topic, you will suggest some things I can do for the RIA Boards.
Post by: Kenneth Kenstar on May 31, 2007, 11:46:58 am: I'm going to be working all night long on revamping this [EMBED] tag for us. I have a lot of plans on how to do it. One of the big complaints is that people sometimes do not want to see ANY embedded files or to keep them from automatically playing. I am going to try to fix that.

Invision, unfortunately, won't allow HTML through posting (this is why I have to do all my crazy, wacko posts directly with SQL).

The only option I can think of is to seperate the Embed tag into a Flash and Media tag.

Flash is also a BIG, BIG, BIG security hole in these forums. This is exactly why most places do not allow the posting of Flash. Look at MySpace for instance.

I could try to make Flash/Media posting something only people with, say, 150+ posts. However, I'm thinking I'm going to have to do some PHPz editingz for that to work. I'm really, really, really trying to avoid doing anything to change any of Invision's files.

Also, everything that is suggested I want to have Azural's approval. He paid for all of this. So, if it's something like "Replace the RIA Logo with a picture of Damen's sister" or something like that, it's probably not going to happen.

I'll be away all day at my senior picnic/scavenger hunt. If any Moderation Staff/Cabinet Members need to contact me, check the Moderation board for details on how to do that. I really doubt you need to contact me at all. But, I just want to keep all loose ends tightened at the moment.

This is a good one, too. I can definitely set something up for this.

A shoutbox I find redundant. We have #RIA, AIM, MSN, and the message board. Also, that would increase the number of SQL connections...and that means it would just slow down the site. Invision already has a lot of database connections. More connections than Damen's mother makes a night.
