Title: A tribute to Type O Negative. RIP Peter.
Post by: Jenne on April 15, 2010, 06:39:12 pm
Goth rock fans lost a legend yesterday when Peter Steele died of apparent heart failure.  I saw these guys in concert 4 times, including a Halloween show under a full moon.

Black No. 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLo-gny54GM) - Probably their most tonicular song
Christian Woman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xU5tQkwv0dY) - My personal favorite
Cinnamon Girl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cTU0Q4Uw4) - One of many excellent covers
Love You to Death (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTNzVC1jDek) - Believe it or not, this was going to be our wedding song if I married one of my college gfs.
Wolf Moon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ew9Rb1BrMAU) - To quote Peter, "This is a song about a guy who turns into a warewolf when he goes down on a menstruating woman during a full moon... What's a little roast beef without the gravy?"
Everything Dies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMHQQvBs6o4) - He just had to prove himself right.
Dead Again (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubax2G78Yr0) - I didn't even know this album was out.  This song pretty much says it all.

May you find the peace in death that you could not have in life.  RIP Peter.

Was never a fan, but then again Gothic Metal isn't really my thing. Surprising he's dead though, I don't know how the band will carry on without him.

The first two songs you listed were my favorite. Was just talking about this guy and his death a few days ago, blew my mind. I feel bad that I didn't find out till late.

Surprised he wasn't dead with all the arm cutting and drugs
