Title: Duke Nukem Forever...
Post by: Pterrydactyl on June 29, 2011, 04:42:27 pm
could have been worse.  Luckily, I got to try a copy out (for free) for a few days.

And, I think they've got a pretty nice shooter engine.

Now, if they just fix the story, the graphics, the voice-acting, and make better levels, they might actually have a good game.

Seriously, I was really surprised with how well the FPS part seemed to work.  Beyond that, it was total ass.

I think the game mechanics are pretty dated, but not bad. The game doesn't look half bad on the PC version either. Overall I liked it. Not worth the $45 I payed for it though.

I wasn't expecting it to be a great game, or even a good one for that matter, but it deserved to be a finished title and to be put in my hands, after the joke that was it's development.

It's Duke Nukem.  You don't buy it because it's going to be the greatest game ever.  You buy it because it's full of awesome.  That being said, I will still wait until it hits the $20 rack.

Only 45? How the hell?
My local GameStop sells it Pre-Owned for 55 for 360.

I loved the 3 barrel machine gun in the original - is it still there?
