There is an 'Occupy' protest in Vancouver and to be honest every morning I feel like going and protesting against companies like mine rather than go in.
-
what does it take for a protest to actually change something? I get how informing shoppers about scandals related to a company can effect their business, but how would that apply to wall street or any other company that doesn't rely on walk-in customers?

It doesn't. These protests are literally doing nothing.

I wish I could join the protests.

Mostly because of all the hippies and the fact that the movement has no clear message. and that they aren't getting behind the few sane people in the movement who are capable of delivering what that message should be.
But mostly the hippies.

The world is fucking bullshit the way it works right now, there's no other way to describe it

They have been protesting in chicago, but noone really cared. In fact, the biggest impact they made was when they were blocking traffic on Jackson and Michigan ave, which stopped public trans for about 45 minutes. During this time, about 25 people were arrested for trying to attack protesters because of their stupidity. Also, all everyone was talking about was how college students were shit and protesting even though they've never had to work for shit.
So, thanks protesters, for ruining the reputation of college students, and shutting down public trans for 45 minutes.
In fact, the story of a lime "breaking the protest line" was bigger than the story of the protest, and most people still don't know what they were protesting.
I think it was the top 10% or banks.
