Title: Cheap gift ideas?
Post by: Mia on February 16, 2012, 12:37:01 pm
Yeah I know this is a weird place to ask but I am asking everywhere I can. I figure the more ideas I can access, the better chance I have of considering something I might not have thought of otherwise. So basically here is the gist: me broke college student but ability to write poems, make music videos, I could probably even film something to music.

Suggestions that I am looking for - if anyone knows anything about scrapbooking, what is the best way to go about it? Leave pages for her to fill in? I am trying to cheer her up since life is pretty down on her lately. I am a terrible drawer, so I was thinking copying and pasting things, then printing it out. I also have a scanner, can stalk her Facebook. I can't get access to her childhood photos. But since it is to cheer her up, I was thinking more of poems, photos of her. Then maybe leave the rest for her to scrapbook on her own? Thoughts?

I was thinking of making a bracelet but that doesn't really seem special plus they break easily if made by hand. Usually too fragile to make. Plus I could end up making it too big (she is quite twiggy

Another thing I was thinking of maybe my friend and I would practice performing a music skit to Lean On Me or Love in Any Language, a good friendship song. As I said, it is supposed to be about her and not the baby.

Also thoughts on whether bringing frozen pizzas or cooking tacos or something beforehand would be better? It is for her 21st birthday (of course she is pregnant, so it is not like she can drink XD). I am not sure how to make it overly special since obviously there is not going to be any alcohol involved here given she is pregnant.

And yes you may be silly :P

Hmm if it was me tacos and a handmade birthday card would be pretty great, though I'm not a pregnant 21 year old girl so my frame of reference may be off :v

How many people will be at the 21st?

One of my friends got given a scrap book with photos of his life in there and every at the party wrote something in it for him. It ended up being a big book because there was over 100 people there. So if it's a small party, the scrap book might seem a little dull. I think his sister made it for him, but there were not drawings, just loads of pictures glued on pages with decorations around them.

Only my friend and myself are going. I think I want to give the scrapbook and leave it mostly empty for her to fill in herself. I can make quite a few poems myself and decorations and well wishes. I'd rather leave more room for her to do something with it than fill it up with things she might not actually like if that makes sense.
