Idk... i know that the BOOKS are MEANT to be for a younger audience, as opposed to the LOTR series, but the first movie felt a little too... MELLOW, you know what i mean? I have no reason to doubt that the second will be the same.

Pretty cool and violent trailer though... so i wonder.

the movie was decent but I fucking hate the completely pointless additions like the orc with the metal hand (and the orc general in the LOTR series, commanding the attack on minas tirith)... it's like they thought, this movie is too good, or at least decent, we need to find some way to fuck it up and add our jarringly tasteless and immersion-breaking personal touches to a well respected work... otherwise people will start reading books too instead of just watching movies.

Or swapping out Glorfindel in favor of Arwen just so they could shoehorn the romance subplot into a much more prominent role... or giving Faramir a drastic character overhaul... I'll stop now before I go full-rant mode.
