Title: Pacific Rim

Saw it last night. It was epic. The visuals were great, especially in IMAX 3D. The action and fights were amazing, yet didn't overwhelm or last too long. And the human drama portions did well to complement and lead up to the next action scene. I hope it does well and they make another.

I may watch this. At first I thought it was going to suck, but everything I've seen about it lately is pointing toward it actually being decent.

I usually give these kinds of movies a go just for the sake of the special effects. at least the first time around you can ignore the shortfalls in other areas. it's been too long since I've seen a movie in Imax :/

I dunno... this looks like an updated Godzilla movie.

Also, am I to understand that they have the tech to make a building-sized kung-fu robot, but somehow can't build missiles or guns to just shoot the bastards with?

Big lizards, big robots, nukes, hot chicks, post-apocalyptic environments, F-22s.  So far, 6/5 stars.  The only thing missing for a perfect 7/5 is a six-shooter...

Too mobile, see Wall of Peace or whatever the fuck and the fast robot's missile rack.

Went and seen it with the gf, was really good and balanced.

Also, and you didn't hear me say it, but bonus points for a largely POC cast
