Did you not have a smartphone or something? I haven't told a phone to backup my contacts on purpose since smartphones.

I did, but I tell it not to auto sync. I cant stand how it organizes shit, always keeps shit I dont want and fucks up shit I do want. Whenever I do turn on auto sync, I usually have to spend 2-3 hours fixing its fuckups. Where as if I did it myself to start with, it would only take a fraction of the time.

yeah... auto synch is a bitch if it gets screwed up on google's end... I ended up making a backup of all my contacts, deleting them on google, and then importing them all back the way i wanted them.

THANK you! I feel like I am taking crazy pills when I explain that to people. I'm glad I am not the only one who has issues with the way google manages to fuck contacts up.
