wow...this is one question i cannot answer...i have seen thousands of movies, im not even exaggerating. a ocuple top ones are Crash, Fight Club, American History X, I Know I'm Not Alone, Equilibrium, V For Vendetta, The Prestige, Pulp Fiction, Office Space, Scarface. And thats a very short list missing several big titles. I am obsessed with movies...Crash is definitely one of the best though.

Escape from new york holds such a special place, it doesn't need to be even mentioned in a top list. I have gotten so much from that movie, and love it so much.

This is so hard to say...

I'm a fan of movies in general, so I really don't have a #1 movie.

I'd consider the following, though (alphabetized for easy reference):
-Alien
-Children of Men
-Collateral
-Donnie Darko
-The Matrix
-Pi
-Pulp Fiction
-Requiem for a Dream
-Ronin
-Saw
-The Shawshank Redemption
-Unbreakable
-V for Vendetta

I've yet to see it, but from what I've heard, Pan's Labyrinth will likely be up there as well.

Pan's Labrynth=TRIPPIEST MOVIE EVER. despite us not knowing it was in spanish and the subtitles, it was a pretty sick movie, not a favourite by any means, but trippy as hell.
