Double bass pounding guitar screaming songs go here. I have yet to find something to top 'Guarded' as the loudest, fastest song on this subwoofer. I need songs that will make my ears bleed, speakers implode and universe tear up. Power Metal, Speed Metal, Heavy Metal and Hard rock are all welcome. Death Metal is not welcome, but if you know some /really/ fast and insane death metal songs you can post them. Songs slower than 100MPH will be disqualified.
@_@ Go go go.
-
Either All That Remains or Shadows Falls. I got a blistering headache listening to an album of All That Remains (The Fall of Ideals).
The hardest on it is probably The Weak Willed.
-
The Weak Willed.. pretty nice. I don't like metalcore/deathmetal, but you gotta respect that drum line. @_@ That was pretty friggin insane. Not the fastest I've heard, but that was awesome.
-
METAL SUCKS. IT IS JUST NOISE.
-
METAL SUCKS. IT IS JUST NOISE.
Get out.
-
IT HAS NO MELODY.
-
YOUR FACE AS NO MELODY
Not metal.. Just awesome songs I've dl'd recently :
White Wedding - Murderdolls
Violent Pornography - SoaD (ITS A SONG <__<)
Almost Easy - Avenged Sevenfold
Rock Anthem For Saving the World - Halo Soundtrack (I don't know)
Domination - Pantera
*More later*
-
NO IT DOES NOT, BUT NEITHER DOES METAL MUSIC.
EDIT: TECHNICALLY, MY SINGING COMES FROM MY FACE, SO MY FACE DOES HAVE MELODY.

BAD SINGING IS BAD. BAD MELODY IS BAD. YOU R BAD. METAL R GOOD.
-
You better not like Rap, Flask.
-
Try Six from All That Remains. Or look up any Shadows Falls song. They're guaranteed to be extremely hard.
-
Shadow Falls is pretty awesome. <3 Redemption.
-
I hate Metal and Rap.
And I'm actually a decent singer. I've written around 15 songs. We should do a web-mic duet sometime, Loren. That is, if you have a voice.
OH SCORCHED.
jkjk...>_>
-
What the hell do you play? o_O Light rock? Country?
-
Alternative/Rock.
And I don't play an instrument, unfortunately. I just sing.
-
lol double post
-
Pig Destroyer - "Loathsome", "Piss Angel"
Napalm Death - "Suffer the Children"
Municipal Waste - "Death Ripper"
Testament - "Disciples of the Watch"
Judas Priest (and Death's cover of) "Painkiller" (I swear, one of the most intense metal songs ever, bar none)
Candlemass - "Dark are the Veils of Death" (Yes, Candlemass is doom metal, which is usually slow, but this song is pretty fast, and definitely heavy)
Megadeth - "99 Ways to Die" (look familiar? ;P )
Sanctity - "Beneath the Machine"
Celtic Frost - "Into the Crypt of Rays", "Suicidal Winds"
Enjoy.
And nobody asked for your opinion on metal anyway Flask, just for recommendations. >_>
-
Converge - The Broken Vow, Conduit
At The Gates - Blinded By Fear
The Beach Boys - 409
Buckethead - Pepper's Ghost
Dark Tranquillity - Out Of Nothing
Dissection - Night's Blood

Robin Trower - Day Of The Eagle
Rush - Need Some Love
Sleep - Some Grass
W.A.S.P. - Hellion

Alternative never goes alone, Flask. And there's a very small line between Alt Rock and Nu Metal. -_-
You'll be sure I'll listen to all of those songs Joker. =D Coming from the master of metal they have to be good.
Thanks Dagny, I'll check those out.
-
That's why it's Alt./Rock. I think you missed the second part. I like Rock.
-

I can't sing. BUT I CAN PLAY A REALLY EASY ERIC CLAPTON SONG ON THE GUITAR.
OH, SCORCHED.
jkjk..
-
When I sing babies explode. u_u
-
I can death grunt and sing decently.
-
Metal "singing" sucks. Period. The growl is fucking annoying. The screeches are usually overdone to the point that they suck. The actual singing is so forced that it just sounds like shit.
Metalcore has some of that crappiness mixed with the goodness of hardcore singing.
Alternative (in general) has almost none of that crappiness.

Listening to metal for the vocals (or lyrics, for that matter) is like watching an action movie for the story. Yeah, they're there, but they're not really the point, and if you can't get over it, well, you're missing out on all the other good stuff. Actually, I'd say heavy metal pretty much is the musical equivalent to action movies, period. Yeah, sometimes it's dumb, sometimes there's not much variety (well, within the subgenres - most death metal sounds the same, IMO, for example, though within "metal" itself there's a huge variety it'd be dumb to dismiss outright), but who cares? Sometimes you just have to say "fuck you" to subtlety and just enjoy the sheer thrill of the balls to the wall action and craziness going on.
And metalcore in general isn't that good. Especially the more commercial stuff, which utterly fails at mixing "hard" and "soft" well. If there's one thing I hate in music, it's jarring, badly done transitions between "hard" and "soft" sections.
As for alternative, for the most part, I like a lot of it, but it just lacks the sheer, visceral thrill metal has for me. There's just not enough energy in it, and so much of it just seems too self-conscious, like "hey look at us we're being totally natural and artistic and stuff." Attitude (not like "attitude" that means badass or something like that, but the other kind, the more general kind) is important in music to me and the attitude of a lot of alternative rock turns me off.
If my post seems incoherent or something, well, I'm dead fucking tired and have been for more than a week now.
-
If all Metal does is get you pumped, and you'll listen to it solely for that purpose...man, stare at a painting for a few hours. You need it.
-
You're basing his thoughts and intellect on the kind of music he likes? <_< Ouch, thats low. I like insane riffs, double bass drum pounding and screaming vocals now and then. But I never, ever said my favorite type of music, bands or songs did I? I also love action movies, but my favorites are thrillers. See my point? Just cause someone likes something doesn't mean thats ALL they like.
-

Please die. Hardcore singing is crap. It's just shouting nothing special at all. At least with grunting you need to have to have talent and practice at it to do it.
EDIT: P.S. - You ever heard power metal singers? Those guys are generally pretty fucking amazing singers.
-
Dagny has a point. Some guy singing constantly in a low tone growl gruggling over thunderchug riffs is not music, its a headache. Hard Rock/Heavy Metal is completely different, and rules. Nu Metal generally sucks too, but Disturbed is an exception.

Strapping Young Lad - Oh My Fucking God
*wins*

I have better taste in music than you...

So because I like metal because it's exciting I must be an uncultured dolt who's unable to appreciate anything artistic or use my brain, right? My appreciation of Voltaire, Cervantes, Orwell, Heller, Vonnegut, Velazquez, and Goya, my favorites among all others in their fields, must be some sort of a fluke because I listen to metal, right? Just because I look for something different in my music than you do doesn't mean I'm some testosterone driven Philistine. If that wasn't what you were getting at, you should probably make yourself clearer when expressing yourself.

Basically.
I'll also second the Converge recommendation someone else mentioned earlier, and add a Dillinger Escape Plan - Panasonic Youth to the mix. Here is the vid:

I disagree, actually. A lot of vocalists make a band, for me. I agree with the lyrics though. Doesn't really matter what they're about.
I know you said no Death Metal, but:
Behemoth - Slaying The Prophets Ov Isa
Nile - Execration Text
As for other Metal:
Armored Saint - Hanging Judge
Blind Guardian - I'm Alive
Exodus - Blacklist
Testament - D.N.R
Demons and Wizards - The Gunslinger

One of Shadows Fall's most awesome songs i think, i learned from guitar hero...
The Light That Blinds
it is the awesome amount of epic. it win
but yeah, i reallly looove the Fall of Ideals cd by All That Remains. I dunno why, i think its cause they got the death metal thing, and they got soft vocals too
-
Atari Teenage Riot - Digital Hardcore
On another note, if you want to kill your ears, the best way is not with a hard song. >_> Try this one:
Brand New - Luca
It's actually a rather quiet song.
-
Megadeth - Hangar 18
Anything by Dragonforce
-
Strapping Young Lad - Underneath the Waves.
Hell, anything from SYL's City would do the trick.
-
Dagny has a point. Some guy singing constantly in a low tone growl gruggling over thunderchug riffs is not music, its a headache. Hard Rock/Heavy Metal is completely different, and rules. Nu Metal generally sucks too, but Disturbed is an exception.
Except that the low growl thing is part of metal, not hardcore.
-
lol @ all the guitar hero faggery

Yeah, thats how I learned of Shadows Falls. My brother is an extremely metal kid. He liked The Light That Blinds so much he went out and sought a Shadows Falls CD. He listened to it non-stop until I got tired of hearing the screaming, so I spilled the beans that Shadows Falls is a Satanist band (a rock/metal music expert of a friend told me). Since my family is Christian, that cured the headaches. Then he moved onto All That Remains.
Also, System of a Down is a good Metal band. They're more of Rock, but they're rather Heavy so you can consider them Metal at times.
Song: Revenga
Album: Mezmerize
Band: System of a Down
Thats a good hard one. Same Album as Violent Pornography as Loren suggested (I had her download that one). Theres also "This Cocaine Makes Me Feel Like I'm On This Song," which is always fun.
lol @ all the guitar hero faggery
You have got to be the worst Music Troll ever.
-
Ewww. Music trolls?
-
I disagree, actually. A lot of vocalists make a band, for me. I agree with the lyrics though. Doesn't really matter what they're about.
Well, a lot of metal bands have good vocalists, some fucking amazing (Rob Halford ), but I just think the main thing with metal is the guitars and instruments in general.
-
-_- @ Dagny trolling.
-
Honestly, whenever I see people recommending a bunch of songs they probably found in GH, I laugh to myself too. The Guitar Hero games are pretty eclectic and offer a good variety of songs, but if most of your knowledge of music comes from GH, well, you don't know a whole lot of music.
That said, I'm gonna buy GH3 as soon as I can, as I've already played all three prior installments to death.

Yeah, fair point. Good vocalist is just a bonus.
I'm going to have to lol at all the SOAD and Shadowsfall fanboys/girls.

I'm going to have to lol at all the SOAD and Shadowsfall fanboys/girls.
So far I believe I'm the only one that has suggested both of those.

Did anybody say my knoledge came from guitar hero? I was simply saying that i believed that was their best song in my opinion. I knew about Shadows Fall far before i got guitar hero.
-

I don't know, did anybody? I know I didn't anywhere in my post. Call me a copout for this if you want, but I didn't even notice your post until now. My post was more in response to everybody getting on Dagny for his comment about "Guitar Hero faggery", since I can see where's he's coming from with that.

Music troll?! WHERE!!!
Fun times abound! =D
*lays out the usual music troll feed*
Slipknot is my second-favorite band ever. I like Limp Bizkit. Stairway to Heaven is the most overrated song ever, and it's done by the most overrated band ever. Buddy Rich's drumming is soulless and completely unenjoyable to listen to. I hate Bob Dylan. I hate Bob Dylan. I hate Bob Dylan. The Red Hot Chili Peppers and System of a Down both suck at writing lyrics. Johnny Cash made good original music, but his covers suck ass. </complete honesty>

1.) Slipknot. I don't know what to say.
2.) Limp Bizkit. The same.
3.) And not all the trash the gets passed off as music these days?
4.) Don't know Buddy Rich.
5.) I hated Dylan until recently. I hadn't really listened to him much. Recently got Blood On The Tracks in which he sings and doesn't use the weery voice so I actually like it.
6.) I agree. Serj has a cool voice though.
7.) Only have listend to originals of Cash. Really like them though.

1. Not much TO say. ;>.> Listen to their song, Confessions. You may be...rather surprised. It'd go so very very well on Rock Band.
2. I have their Greatest Hitz compilation. It's all the Limp Bizkit I could ever want, minus the song, Full Nelson.
3. It gets passed off as music, yes, but it doesn't get hailed by countless critics as the best song or the best band ever like Stairway does. >_> Stairway is good at best. Hardly deserving of the universal praise it gets.
4. He was a jazz drummer, frequently called the best drummer ever. While I agree he's certainly a contender for the most technically proficient drummer ever, his drumming is passionless. It's like looking at the solution to a math problem. What little melody there is in his drumming is dull. I don't enjoy listening to it at all.
On top of that, he made a fool of Animal(the muppet) on national TV. =(
5. Bob Dylan never should've gotten behind a microphone. He should've just given all of his songs to other performers. What he loses in money, he makes up for in the fact that his contributions to music would've been more worthwhile.
6. I dunno. I like his voice, but when I heard Empty Walls, I was suddenly and utterly sick of his voice. It's like his singing is in some kind of Serj Tankian formula, and it's getting old. He sounds like Bert of Bert and Ernie to me now.
7. His originals are great. He's got my favorite voice in all of countrydom, and his songs are badass. But his covers suck. All of them.
