Eventually lose an election by a narrow margin. Despite having ruled the island democratically for 120 years and turning it into a highly developed nation, end up in a rowboat with all my belongings.

I am ViceCitysMan of CE. I have had a few NKLs and 3KLs and even a 7 day suspension for posting a link to a rather distasteful website. I eventually got tired of the account and CE in general, so I dared CE that if they could spell "CE" I would close my account. They somehow managed to do it, so I closed it. I still have another account, but I mostly use it for posting in game boards.

it doesn't load for me. I click "Play this game!" and a window tonics up with "NG presents: Maze Runner 9000" on top and a big white rectangle below it, and then nothing happens. Same thing happens with other games, which makes me assume that something is wrong with my PC. Any idea what it could be?

* 10% - 16% = +0 population happiness
    * 17% - 20% = -1 population happiness
    * 21% - 23% = -3 population happiness
    * 24% - 25% = -5 population happiness
    * 26% - 28% = -7 population happiness

One day, before collecting taxes, set your tax rate at 16% and see how much you would collect. Then set it at 20% and look again, then 23%, then 25% and finally 28%. The amount to be collected will change depending on the tax rate, just pick the tax rate that will get you the most money.

Very small nations like yours usually benefit from having relatively low taxes, once your nation grows a bit the ideal tax rate will always be 28% (until you get the wonder that lets you raise it even more).
