It was pretty awesome. I must say I was disappointed at some parts. All in all it was a GREAT movie and worth seeing. I want to go again!!!

I'm dying to know. How similar is it to the book?

In my opinion, it was no way screwed up like the Prisoner of Azkaban. PoA had all the events topsy turvey and OotP was atleast chronologically correct from the book. Sure they left out LOTS of scenes and added a few that weren't in the book, but I think they did a great job. Atleast they kept in Kreacher.

No, it's the biggest book. The 7th is shorter.

And I don't think the third movie was ruined, it was adpated for the screen and done by a creative director. I liked it BECAUSE it was new and didn't follow the book too heavily. The messages, however, still came across well.

I was lucky enough to go to an advanced screening    and yeah it didn't follow the book all that much but I loved it (and I'm not really a big fan of the movies). The fight scene near the end was incredible and it still kept the usual sense of humour throughout.

It was pretty bad. I don't care how long the book is. If they think it's too long for one movie they should just not do a movie. Like c'mon.

It wasn't great. Not the worst movie ever but I wouldn't want to see it again... Not enough action.

i JUST saw it. i thought it was SPECTACULAR. i read the book right when it came out and then again like last summer. I wish i had read it again before the movie came out. But ya i thought it was amazing since i thought it wouldn't be that great because that was my least favorite book. but i thought it was spectacular. The fight scene with Dumbledore and Voldmort was simply awesome. ya my thoughts.

Agreed.

I'm not a strict movie-must-be-like-the-book kind of person (and my opinion could be influenced by the fact that I haven't read book 5 in a long time), but I thought the movie was definitely, for the least, well-made.

smeeth i agree with you, but i'm pretty much only tough to please when it comes to the Harry Potter movies. Which im sure is influenced by the fact that i've read the books like 6 times each. But having read the book so mcuh i didnt feel like the movie made total sense with everything they left out.

NO!

Spoilers ahead!  *gasps*

They left out a few things, but atleast most of it wasn't big like they've done before.  I can only rember a few things that were missing (though, it's been almost two years since I've read it):  How Umbridge found out about the DA was different, though, I think it was necessary to help set up for the next movie.  The part where the twins left was cut short and their memorial wasn't there.  Quite a bit was cut off when they went back into the Ministry.

The girl who played Luna did the part well.  I can't rember where I've seen her before.  Watching Ginny react to Harry and Cho was great too.

haha i liked Luna. she was good. I wanted to see everyone flooding the Weesleys store at the end (i think that was the end of the 5th where they told everyone to go to their store for the products). also i wish it was someone else for Umbridge. not the greatest. also, Unbridge found out and the chick that told her got like pimples and stuff because the sheet they signed was jinxed

Umbridge felt completely wrong at the beginning, but she did fit the character quite well (other than looks).

I forgot about the pox thing.  That actually would have worked better than what they did with Cho.
