When I don't have much RAM and svchost has been killing me and it's running in the background, it doesn't make my gaming experience any better.

I bet I could play H-L 2 Episode 2 and get past the G-man scene (no spoilers, you know it'll happen) if it wasn't eating up so much goddamn memory.

I have to say, that's a crappy computer. Even my old Windows 95 had at least 48 MB RAM.

Unless you mean 512 MB RAM, and not 512 KB.

Yes, though if you see Sid Meier's Railroads!, and think that looks interesting, definitely don't get that.

I'd get Portal and the rest of the Orange Box, but Half-Life 2: Episode One continuously crashes on my computer, so I figure until I upgrade my computer I'd better hold off, since the OB games will likely do the same thing.
