DVI vs VGA.

I'll wrap this up simply. Bought a new monitor and originally hooked it up via VGA. The Monitor came with a CD for drivers and I picked the VGA version driver. Cause I didn't have time to check when I hooked it up, the monitor came with a DVI connector. Joefully I tore out the VGA, and plugged in the monitor to my x1600 pro via DVI. All is fine in the world except one thing... no difference in quality anywhere. Running at 1680*1050 resolution for movies and crap, and I see no difference at ALL.

Could this be my shoddy eyes, or do you think I would have to put the CD back in and install the Digital drivers? I don't think thats it cause there's an Auto button on the monitor that switches between VGA and DVI modes and right now its on DVI. So basically is there a noticable difference between the two or is it for bragging rights to have a cool DVI 22' LCD?

If The video card, cabling, and monitor are all in good condition, there should be no noticeable difference.

If these aren't all perfect, VGA can start to pick up interference or crosstalk.  Also VGA can experience "pixel drift" which can blur sharp lines.

i've never seen a difference. but it's supposedly better, any my graphics card only has dvi anyway, so i use it.
