what's so good about being 16? you can get a driver's license i suppose. other than that it was a relatively uneventful age.

2008 will probably be a miserable year. im trapped in a place i dislike for at least 3 years now. i'll be at least 300 miles from my girlfriend for at least 3/4 of the year. either that or we'll break up and i'll lose all hope of ever getting another. all my money will be depleted and i'm too lazy to get another job to refill my bank account. most of my friends are several hundred miles away.

on the bright side, i might get hit by a car or struck by lightning or something.

so they claimed when i signed up for this. so far it's been disappointing despite supposedly being in the top 50 universities.

If you want to talk about freedoms, 16 is nothing. You can drive a car and most likely get a job at that point, but that's about it.

Otherwise, all of your other freedoms (except drinking = 21) come available to you at 18. Such as your gambling, smoking, voting, and all of that other stuff. And of course, if you're like me, you wait until you're 18 before you get your license and first job anyways.

Anything else that will happen concerning the next year is just pure coincidence and luck and such. Yeah, Bush is done as president, but what if we get stuck with Hillary Clinton? What if Metallica's new album is worse than St. Anger?

The way I see it, 2008 will be horrible.

Hillary will become president.
I'll probably be on my third job in one year's time at that point.
I'll have to look at colleges.
I'll be getting nagged at by my parents to move out of the house.
More sucky rap and tonic and country music will be released.

Sums the year up pretty nicely in my opinion.
