it's our first winter and things have been strange. all 3 kittens disappeared without a trace. half the forest burned to ash by one fire imp. kobolds and monkeys stealing even though we have nothing to steal. mysterious falling rocks that cause no injury but still make everyone tense. and then this.

caught him sneaking around the edge, scoping the place out. and it's winter. everyone knew this couldn't be right. we've never seen one before but we know they're supposed to be asleep. perhaps it's some perverted magician or shaman taking the form of a woodland creature in the hopes of cornering some hapless dwarf and engaging in some 'role play' or maybe some food sex.

the dwarves are all arguing, saying the quest is cursed. something has to be done before it all falls apart.

in the spring a kobold made off with one of only 2 steel battle axes. evidently one of the woodcutters thought he would drop it way out somewhere and now he loafs around saying there's nothing for him to do (but eat shrooms, drink all the experimental brews, and fall asleep in doorways). I blame flas-steps on black bear skull-... oh.
