i am not willing to spend money on music, where can I get free mp3's one at a time, or even en mass if absolutely necessary

and then use Isohunt to open torrents with those programs. Search specific albums or artist discographies(even if for-sale discographies don't exist).

There are some places that do that, but you'd need to look a tiny bit. too lazy.
