1: What HP do you have? I bet I can name a more powerful Dell for way less. Shop smart, shop S-Mart.
2: Fans fail in all brands of laptops, all the time. Thats like saying a prebuilt desktop has bloatware or a monitor is bright. <_<
3: Driver problems from OS switching don't cause fans to fail, since fans are not driver related but thanks for playing. :S And how dare Microsoft support their own product fffffff.
1. First, rewind to last May or so. I got a HP Pavilion dv6736nr, which I got for about $700 while a weaker Dell (directly FROM Dell) was almost $900. Obviously NOW you can name a Dell more powerful, there are equally more powerful HPs on the market for a price that I got my HP at. As usual, obsolete as soon as it leaves the store.
2. Have only had
four laptops, but the first two were ancient (Pentium I and Pentium III old) so they don't count. Even they never had fan failures, even the first one that ran like frozen molasses on a good day. My old Gateway, which I had for almost two years, never had fan failures. This is the first time I've had it.
3. I swear it had something to do with drivers. When I first swapped OS's I was missing about eight drivers for relatively important little things, and some other things just flat-out didn't show up.
And I don't blame Microsoft for supporting the bloated monstrosity that isVista, I blame them for cutting us off from XP.
