Frankly I think abstaining from sexual pleasure entirely for non-religious reasons is silly, as there's plenty of other ways to prove your self-control to yourself. Eat less/eat healthier, spend less time on the computer, do more work (or get better at the work you already do), etc. I mean if you're jerking off like 2-3 times a day, yeah, cut back, but giving up entirely? Why? It's healthy to masturbate.
